A few years ago I asked a service rep about pulling and shipping cards. Why it take so long to pull and send one card. 100 card order had the same time frame as a one card order (Per him).
His statement was "They pull multi orders when pulling cards. He could not say any more then that."

Who know he could have lied to me just to get me off the phone.

It's a "glitch" that has been there for years...for reasons, Tim won't/can't fix it. I've had a theory that it intentionally disappears every month and COMC only brings it back when someone mentions it - they're waiting for people to not notice so they can make it disappear permanently.

He wasn't lying...this time, anyways. I can't get into the details without COMC's lawyers coming after me again, but it's more time efficient to send team members into the warehouse to pull multiple orders at once, rather than to go and process one shipment at a time. Tim's developed this system that allows the team to pull multiple orders at once, to speed up the process and get cards out quicker - without it, things would take even longer.

I've really been enjoying the auctions, both as a seller and as a buyer. The ability to bid on eBay and pay for the items with COMC credit and have them show up in my COMC account is the kicker.

I've also noticed a flurry of non-auction eBay sales. It appears to be common for eBay buyers to add additional items to their order when checking out.

Anyone heard any word on the bulk price editor? Will it ever be fixed?

Dev team? You mean Tim...well, Julia, actually. They're not allowed to speak to Tim directly. Customer service has told Julia and it's up to her to decide if it's worth Tim's time/effort.

I always got a kick out of them trying to act like their system is a state secret. Like they are the first people to design an order picking system LOL!

It's not the first system, but I remember it being a pretty convoluted setup...once you got the hang of it, it moved pretty quickly, but there were a lot of steps.

I’ve won auctions but can’t figure out how to pay with comc credit... any advice?

Log into COMC and go to your Dashboard. The link at the top of the left menu bar now says "Auctions Won." Click that, make sure your ebay account is linked, then pay.

I hope its that, because I have a card that hasn't shown up yet. I sent in a Freddie Freeman 2011 Finest auto card, and it still isn't in the port. I know I sent it in this last submission, because I sent it with another Freddie Freeman autograph from Elite, and that has shown up already.

Bear with me here, long post coming.

So I have read the all about COMC thread and I have read this thread in portions.

One of my goals this year is to declutter a little. Between storage and my PA home I have about 100 5k counts of cards that are left overs from rip and flip breaks over the years. I have some from 2006-2009, but most of this is from my restart 2014-2018. With the resurgent of the Rookie card, serial numbered stuff and even lower end autos, I would estimate I have 20-40k $3-8 cards and probably even another 5-6k in $10-20 cards. Frankly, my schedule is busy. My time is now split between my home in NY and my home/job based here in PA and COMC would seem like a reasonable way to move the needle on decluttering and obviously making some serious side income.

However I am seeing a ton of complaints in this thread. Someone help me understand the perks and drawbacks from an unbiased perspective. I have used COMC plenty to boost my Eaton collection in the past, I am familiar with buying, the selling is foreign to me.

From a pure selling standpoint - there is no better/other option out there for moving cards if you don't have the time. Yes there are a lot of issues and COMC has continued to be difficult to deal with but the cards are still selling.

Have you read my Primer thread? It has all the basics of selling through COMC. There are some complaints, but it seems like COMC would be the absolute best way for you to sell your collection for the most value. Send them a monster box with a smattering of cards from $2-50. It will cost approx $1,500 to process the 5,000 cards in the box. Once you sell $2K worth, send in another monster box. After a while you'll have 10s of thousands of cards for sale in a warehouse that they do all the work on. The only thing you have to do is price them. When your port gets that big, it's hard to reduce prices individually.
So what I do is overprice my cards a little at the front end, then discount them all 6% every month or two. That way if people are watching them through eBay, eBay notifies them of the price drops.

I've really enjoyed the auctions as well. There will always be things to improve, but so far the auctions seem to be a huge success.

I agree with what Swipe79 said....COMC can be a bit maddening at times as a seller, but it is by far the best mousetrap out there for people with limited time for certain kinds of cards. My dealings with them as a seller has been 95 percent positive, but human nature dictates that the other 5 percent sounds much louder.

Make sure you research what you are sending in. Low numbered inserts and parallels seem to be the sweet spot.

Thanks guys I appreciate the quick feedback. My eBay account has quickly over the past year with work, buying a second home and being involved in 2 communities, turned into a higher end deal. Listing big hitters. So these boxes that are sitting are treasure troves. I'm going to start putting together a shoebox, start small and see how it goes.

I have been one of the biggest sellers on the site. If you PM me I will answer all your questions honestly. I bitch at them a lot but it is well deserved. They have probably made more revenue off me than any seller.

Haven't had time to shop the auctions too much until today - looked around a little bit but bid on a pile of stuff just to see if I could pick up cheap and flip.

For the most part, things seem to go for what I would expect (or at least the items that I have a frame of reference for).

Made my first purchase - transition from eBay into my account was seamless, very happy with my purchase.

It is staggering to me the sheer volume of quarter bin fodder that some people have chosen to auction. A lot of money just flushed.

Overall, happy with the experience both as a buyer and a seller. Hadn't planned to use it all that often to list items but may end up sending in a few more cards moving forward.

Did anyone get overcharged for their auction listings? I did a test run with 5 items and two of them were charged the correct $2.50 fee but three of them were charged $3.50 instead, even though the highest one sold for $51. I’ve sent an email to staff@comc but figured I would ask here as well. I submitted all of mine at the same time a few days before the “early bird deadline”.

I've been trying to check on a couple of cards I have that are about to go on Ebay, but the Grading Submissions page has an error message. Is anyone else having the same problem ?

Yeah I just got the same, as I wanted to check as well, but it just worked for me now. Maybe they were working on new ones to go up. I submitted one card on Jan 3rd...it still doesn't show it up for auction yet. Seems long to get it going, but maybe because they are in the early stages of this?

There is a thread in the baseball section from someone saying they have been waiting since thanksgiving for a refund and COMC is giving them a runaround?

James where are you hiding these days?

Heres the thread.
