I would play Torres over JD as well but I don't think it'll happen on OD.

It was awesome to see them go back to back. I told my Son before Judge hit his homerun that he was going to hit one. We saw the Blue Jays pitcher, Pop, the game before and he sucked. I just knew Judge was going to launch one off him.

When we were at the 1st Blue Jays game on Friday night, I picked up a game used double that Volpe hit against them in the 2/26 Spring Training game. I picked it up on a whim that it would be a spring training hit in his rookie season.

And then two days later, the Yankees announced he was making the opening day roster.

Steinbrenner Field is definitely one of the more elaborate spring training stadiums down there. Their security sucks though as they made me throw out my spray bottle of sun tan lotion so my Son and I fried. It was way too hot to stay for the whole game, so we left after 5. I picked up the new Yankees magazine in the store and we bought 2 of the mystery 8x10 autographed photos they sold. We pulled a Johnny Damon and some Yankee I've never heard of.

A's stupidly announcing they are cutting Christian Pache. Yankees would be fools not to drop Hicks like a hot rock and sign this kid.

And yet the Yankees would rather be fools.

I almost fell out of my chair on Sunday when Hicks singled and walked his 1st 2 at bats.

If he can’t even make it with the A’s I doubt he would be anything better than Hicks. I don’t like Hicks and wanted him gone after last years gafs in the outfield but no sense trading one bad apple for another and not that it matters but I have lots of Pache rookie cards.

Pache is one of the best defensive OF's in the game. The Yankees don't need more 40-50 hr guys they have enough of those. Not everyone has to hit 425 ft moonshots.

No I agree but hitting at least .200 would be helpful.

I want to see Topps burn the world down and add a Volpe RC in an upcoming Throwback Thursday release.

What do they do if Volpe tears it up on opening day? Call-up card instead of RC?

Send them Hicks/pay his salary for Pache. Then let them DFA Hicks. I would take a flyer on Pache at 24 and had a decent spring training.

Can they just force the As to sell already? How can they be that bad at managing a team. You don't just give up on 24 year old center fielders.

Even when everyone was raving about Moneyball, I was the one guy amongst my peers who always pointed out that it didn't work. That movie alone bought the A's what seems like a lifetime of justified mediocrity. I really really wish they get kicked out of the league...it'll never happen but still.

Either or, count me in! What're the chances that he's in update?

Now is the time to trade Peraza. Make someone take Hicks, Donaldson, or Montas too in any deal.

I should have blown off work today and gone into DC and watched the Yankees.

Volpe had another hit to bring his spring training average up to .309 and had two awesome plays in the field.

Moneyball was a joke I agree with you, the true winners of Moneyball were the Marlins who won a title flipped their roster and then won another one within 10 years and sold off again.

I don’t think a 3-0 snore fest would’ve been a fun way to spend the day.

Better than a work snooze fest listening to webinar's to meet my certification PDUs.

That's why I went, had to listen in on a meeting all afternoon, figured might as well do it from Nats Park. I got a ticket for $13 and parked on the street for $10...not a terrible way to spend the afternoon.

Now I'm jealous. I should have done this.

I guess a snore fest at the ballpark does beat a snore fest at work.
