judging by the way the grocery store looks, everyone spend their money there this week. i may have to trade baseball cards for pizza and dr pepper in the near future. lol.

at least i was able to get some food. they had tons of debbie cakes and oreos.

Rochester Soto has a sub 1000pr and it's a great looking card. I liked it enough to pick up a couple foils

Received cards 498-501 in the mail today. Thus far, ordering only 3 and 4 packs, I have received 30 foils randomly

Does anyone else think it is weird that the APs are handwritten on the back whereas the foil have an official stamped number?

Now that you've mentioned it yes. I think I'd rather have a stamped serial number. Still need to pick up at least 1 AP just to add to the collection

I only have two APs from a pretty large collection of Project 2020 and Project 70 cards (and companion cards), but it is nice to get one of a card that really speaks to you.

I knew on first sight that Fucci Mantle was the one for me.

I've purchased enough APs that I could have purchased a junk-era Cadillac [or maybe lease a Catera?].

Even the "bad" ones are much nicer than the base cards, between the rarity, the frame, the weight, the clickety clacketyness and the transformed dimensions [sometimes].

That said, I agree they are something to behold when it's a card that really speaks to you. So hard to pick a favorite AP though. Morning Breath Mays and Naturel Raines are standouts.

Morning Breath Mays is the other AP I have, though I bought that at a discount on eBay.

Morning Breath has been a bit inconsistent and I really did not care for their Piazza but their Mays card is a great one.

Nah just the base. AP is sold out.

Fitting though since Tatis hit the HR to beat the Braves. My Phils only a game back now.

This will be my 4th P70 purchase:

Pardee Ke'Bryan Hayes, Pokemon Ohtani, MF Doom Darryl Strawberry, and now the JK5 Tatis

Per Gumstickstudios.com's very convenient artist sorting feature, we're very likely to have many of the artists I'm collecting sets of release cards next week, as well as favorites like Jonas Never and Morning Breath. My low purchase week has been probably just a blip, as we come up on card 600 and the month of October...

I looked back and this past week at 4/20 was indeed my worst calendar week of the whole set. I even got 5 cards the first "week" that started on a Wednesday and comprised 9 cards.

Don't feel guilty, trust your judgement.

Aren't APs in the art world hand numbered? Seems like something the buyer would expect when paying this kind of money. A bit more of a personal touch even if it's not the artist themselves that did the numbering.

Having the artist sign the back of every AP would be nice too...of course then topps would probably charge at least double what they currently are

To me the 'personal touch' only has value if it is that of the artist.

I'd prefer an official numbered stamp to the personal touch of a Topps intern.

Siff made an interesting choice going horizontal on his Bellinger card while using such a tiny image of the player.

The 1952 set only had 46 horizontal cards, so it wasn't based on the design year.

Do people think it would have been better as a vertical card or are you happy with it as a horizontal?

The foils that have most "popped" are Fucci's Dick Allen and Ermsy's Mookie Betts.

In the art print world, an A/P is usually the Artist's personal copies vs the normal numbered edition of a print. Usually like 20 or so but they would be signed by the artist and marked A/P. But yeah, it's weird.

I like this card.

The photo was taken by me and while I was a little surprised he used the entire image without cropping it some, I like the look and felt it went great with Siff's doodle style.

That is easily one of my top 5 favorite images from the shortened and awkward 2020 season, where we shot photos from the stands and generally getting faces was hard.

I know Bellinger is having a rough year but his talent is real and he is young and I personally believe he'll be back as a superstar in the sport, though I realize the Hobby can be quite fickle.

I think this is a nice no-hat companion to the Mad Hits Carew card.

If you look close you'll see that I did get credit as the photographer on the card (first time for everything), and even got my face done Sandy Koufax style with my camera and everything.

I think this makes a nice canvas for doodles.

Shape of my head looks right but my eyes are a little squintier in real life, and my camera lens is also much larger.
