Thanks. Your emerald is sick too As NT RPA and Contenders Auto get more expensive, his Limited, Immaculate, Encased Autos will go up in value. There are only ~2250 Mahomes RC's with an on-card auto and him in NFL jersey.

I think I may resub mine to SGC or PSA to get it out of the silver slab. What’s your thoughts on that? I just think they look better in other slabs!

I personally would not submit to SGC. I might submit it in the BGS slab to PSA for a crossover to PSA 9.

I would say the same thing, it is the only card/brand with an inscription since I do not consider Leaf as a true RC. I just do not want people to put money in unlicensed cards unless it is for their PC and do not care about it as an investment.

People are ridiculous about what they consider a rookie card. Baseball is way worse. Guy can have ten cards the previous year or two but if they don't have the "RC" symbol, they don't count.

The card I was responding to was a guy that posted that his "The Rookies" wasn't a true rookie but he still loved it.

I'm telling everyone that it IS a true rookie card. Panini makes so many diff rookie card variations of everyone these days.

It all comes down to collect what you like and what is your ultimate goal, PC or Investment or a combination of both? Yeah, baseball and basketball have so many RC's with RC symbol for many players. So collectors tend to focus on true RC's for better ROI. I am not even talking about cards without RC logo and unlicensed cards.

Lol. Look at pcp's thread (I think it was his) of all Mahomes autograph rookie cards. He didn't include Optic because it doesn't say "Rookie". Even though it has Rated Rookie on it. Not saying it's right or wrong, just that people are weird with rookie cards.

Yep, It was my thread and I clearly mentioned in the thread that my criteria is to include cards only with an RC logo and NFL jersey because that is my collecting preference and have given me best ROI. I tend to stay away from unlicensed cards and cards without an RC logo. I can give you countless examples of poor ROI on those cards across all sports. Optic did not take off until Panini Prizm#269 prices went crazy! There is nothing right or wrong but that is my approach and it has served me well, which is why I said one has to decide what their ultimate goals are, PC or Investment or both! Seems like sellers can't sell those at all.

The worst one is the rookie card with him and the Raiders' David Carr on it LOL. What Chiefs fan would want a rookie with the arch nemesis on it. Yikes!

I do not own one Prizm. I've sold every one and if I had it to do over again, I would do the exact same thing as well.

I know this thread is all about high end Mahomes. But his Donruss base rated rookies cards are doing great also. They are up 3x easily from SUPERBOWL. In my opinion it’s going to be comparable to the Brady bowman paper. While donruss is not an iconic football card rated rookies are. And in the Mahomes era there’s no topps no topps chrome. With base Topps blowing up in basketball I could see these also ending up way up in price. Thin card stock and dark borders make 4 sharp corners tough and PSA 10’s tougher than normal. Just my opinion no one get all upset in just saying and no I do not own any PSA 10’s of this card just raw. But I bought 15 or so raw copy’s and all have had the same issues.

Yes, everyone's collecting preference is different. For the same reason, I would not LOL or call people weird if they collected unlicensed cards or cards without an RC logo

I had those Hangers in by cart here so many times when they were $9-$13 forever. Just couldn't pull the trigger. Now they're through the roof.
