Middleton is a 3x all-star who is still just 32. It's really a team with 1 superstar in his prime, plus another multi-time all-star that traded a 3rd minor star for another superstar albeit one who's arguably just left his prime but is still just 33.

I would say they were a superteam at the start of the season.

Middleton's availability has oft been an issue the past few years. Lopez has gone downhill, Pat's regressed mightily. Crowder is shot, and trading Jrue really hurt on the defensive end.

It's like amputating a foot to give you a bionic power fist. Some of this is hindsight but some of it was apparent up front. And now I don't know where they really go from here. They have no ammo to retool at all outside Dame and Giannis themselves.

I would like to see Middleton go to Pacers and the Pacers unclog some of their 5th year players like Toppen and Smith. That would wash out financially and open the door for development of Jarace Walker and Quenton Jackson, assuming Mathurin is back as well. And both of the new Bucks could potentially have steady roles for years there.

Speaking of fifth, Pacers now that in terms of playoff odds. Pinching myself.

That's not what NBA rankings says and extrapolating further in the playoffs, it's probably closer than the numbers suggest.

Boston and Heat gonna wear each other down by end of this first round series.

I've got Nesmith man. I looked around and never could find a player priced so cheap relative to his talent, so I kept pouring my money into a project. It's not like when the numbered golds dry up they magically print more.

you're leaving money on the table not betting on the Pacers at 5th-place odds as opposed to Vegas's 11th-place odds. you could use that money to buy more Nesmith, duh

also are you sure you're not delusional
(indiana at around 11th in the league, that sounds quite realistic)

The odds on that more detailed site seem way less suss. The other is an article for generalists, while the charts have specifics. I mean, are you gonna give the Bucks a more than 13 percent chance given a hobbled Dame, Middleton having to play out of his mind to keep the team in it, and Giannis coming back maybe game 5 or never? Shoot, the Bucks got the Pacers to pass it to their coldest player on the floor, Nesmith, twice in the last minute, and even he came through under fire.

Just picked up all the numbered Luminance on the Bay (personal fav rookie year card), another Rev cubic /50, and flux blue /99 to boot for under $50 all-in. Seems like an upward proposition if I ever get to Indiana.

the betting market average with the Bucks is about 45:1 odds, which is like around 2%

pacers 70:1

are you sure you're not delusional or something

I'm sure you want to ride those odds if you can find them.

But then don't listen to someone who doesn't gamble.

but you do understand how betting markets work at least, and what sorts of signals they impart?

Does the site I linked to and the odds I gave look reasonable? Probably AI generated, but oh well.

They have the length. Reason why pacers at all costs wanted to avoid them.

Donovan Mitchell’s second half:
0 pts 4 turnovers

In true playoff form.

I take that as a no answer to my question

pacers are roughly the 11th best team in the league

why are you so worked up over an 11th-best team? there's like 10 teams that you could be commenting on nonstop (please don't)

Sorry, what? Betting markets are totally whack and out of date until they aren't. Same holds with basketball as a hobby, except you genuinely have collectors here who don't mind losing money (which is its saving grace).

They seem dead in the water without him going off.

Garland also seems like the most overrated "heir apparent" in a while. It'll be interesting to see how bad they flounder if Mitchell goes to Orlando or NY. I don't think Garland has it in him to be the guy.

Nothing but favorites all the way through.

Dogs on the ML are getting crushed so far; hope to see a change to make things interesting.

What's up with Garland? I was hoping the Magic could somehow get him if the Cavs blow it up this summer but after watching this series he looks very average out there.

Power Point.

Franz finding his groove is great for Orlando. Hope he can keep it up on the road.
