Louie Varland getting the start on Wednesday! Glad to see Varland getting Mahle’s spot in the rotation. Would assume Sanchez gets DFA’d for the 40 man spot because of he’s not starting he doesn’t need to be on the roster.

Sonny pushed back to Thursday for an extra day of rest for his hamstring

Joe
Varland
Sonny

All lined up for the next 3 games. Desperately need to go 2-1.

Well that's about how one expected that series to go. Bummer we couldn't pull that one off in extras.

Your third base coach should be tarred and feathered after that stunt in extra innings.

Agreed. Should have won in the 10th. Sending Celestino when you would have had 1 and 3 with 0 outs for Correa was idiotic. Especially cuz Celestino isn’t that fast

So what is with Baldelli's antics last night having Karinchak checked? Seemed like just trying to get into Karinchak's head and he did give up a 2 run homer

I’m assuming it’s a belief that Karinchak had something in his hair, gel/tack/whatever. It’s a little suspicious when a guy constantly runs his hands through the back of his hair and then rubs it all over the ball every single pitch. Especially someone who was demoted to AAA after the spider tack cracked down last year when his numbers fell off a cliff

It's not suspicious when he has done it ever since he has been back in the majors this year, he is either on or off. He was still off last night. Sorry may sound like a homer but it seemed like a little game to me.

I might even agree with you if it wasn't for Baldelli's comments afterwards tells me that either he was playing a game or doesn't know what he is talking about or looking for

Well if you look at Karinchak’s game logs, yesterday was the first time this season he’s faced Minnesota.

Baldelli doesn’t watch every inning of every Cleveland game to know Karinchak’s full process for every pitch.

And also I remember a game a few weeks ago where Karinchak didn’t go to his hair before every pitch. Only when he got a new baseball

And your previous comment goes along with what Baldelli said. You said he’s done it every time he’s pitched this year. Baldelli’s comments literally mentioned he had never seen him do this before. So if this is something new Karinchak is doing this year, when he’s constantly shuffling the ball and messing with his hair, and not something he’s done previously, that’s different.

And this being the first time Karinchak’s faced the twins, it definitely sticks out

It is in general his normal process. It gets weird when Baldelli says this

“I believe it would have been hard for me and for our group as a whole to watch their pitcher do the things that he does on the mound, in a very upfront and straightforward way of trying to apparently alter some things.

If he it was so straightforward then they would've caught something. I personally don't watch games but know enough to know Karinchak in general does the same routine.

He has never had the little bit longer hair. He openly said sweat and rosin. Karinchak has always been herky jerky the only difference a little bit longer hair so he goes to his hair I guess for the sweat

Karinchak never did this before this year. This was the first time the twins have seen him. Karinchak was terrible post spider tack crack down. Now first time seeing him, he’s grabbing from his hair and tossing the ball all over. It is a suspicious movement.

If someone is opening saying they’re using sweat and rosin, it’s fair to question if there’s anything else, especially from someone who used tack

Nah.. not when they all do it and Karinchak said only when questioned about being searched

Its not when he has done it all year. If you are going to make the strong comments like Baldelli did you should know what you are looking at. Again before this year is irrelevant, Karinchak never had the longer hair, etc. But has always been herky jerky. And just because I don't watch doesn't discount my opinions

You are zeroing in on him being a tack user like he was the only one when it was pretty wide spread

Of course it was wide spread, pretty much everyone was doing it.

You’re answering the point already. Baldelli said it’s a new thing for him this year. You’re agreeing because he didn’t have the long hair. You agree the hair thing is new. That’s what Baldelli is focusing on. When he didn’t have the hair he didn’t do the process which Baldelli flagged.

I'm not agreeing with a manager making comments like he did. I will agree it was new to him but if you are going to react to something new you don't say what he said.

I’m saying you’re agreeing with the fact that the hair and these movements are new. You yourself said he didn’t do this before BECAUSE he didn’t have the long hair.

But it doesn't matter. If it's new to you you don't make comments like the pitcher was openly trying to cheat and that is what he said in a nutshell.

Apparently not since he wasn't kicked out of the game, but I am done with the subject. Glad for another win against the Twins tonight and love the playoff atmosphere
