I like the pick up. Could give Peloton a run since Myx is included. I am holding.

how would you play this TLRY-APHA merger:

TLRY price: 63.91
exchange rate: .8381
implied offer: 53.56
APHA price: 26.30

"The Arrangement is expected to close in the second quarter of calendar year 2021 following the receipt of such regulatory approvals, as well as court approval of the Arrangement."

Another option expiry chop day.

Cashed in hedges on the flash dip, and reloaded on the bounce during the day.

I was wondering that, too.

I happened to get in on Tilray at 36 and moved it all in the mid 50's today. Also sold early on IGC and SNDL after some significant moves yesterday into today. My inexperience is showing... but I thought there are always pullbacks after huge percentage gains in a short time frame like this. Is it all just the result of this economic stimulus having nowhere to go and all the new traders being aggressive with money they didn't earn? I'm getting nervous holding anything that moves up so fast as there has to be a top somewhere.

I know a couple of you are in GNOG. I’m about to dump this POS. My average is in the $13s, but it seems like a dumpster fire. Anyone holding, and if so, why?

I got in on Tilray at $9.14. Just kicking myself that I didn't buy more

I am holding because if it goes to zero I will harvest the loss. I don't have a big enough position to care about that money. I agree with you though. It's a POS. DKNG, PENN, MGM, and WYNN are all better choices in that space.

I've thought about getting in, but outstanding warrants don't expire until early March. Will probably get held down until after that.

if you can be on the lookout for the date the transaction closes then we should able to use the merger arb. by buying APHA stock and buying TLRY puts to finish the arb. cause people will be buying APHA and selling the converted into TLRY.

or another way long APHA, short TLRY, but i would skip that for now as the trade seems to be blown up today. i'm going to try the first way first i guess.

OGI kills me. I’ve missed on many investment opportunities in stocks, barely lost auctions on cards that then soared in price, sold so many things too early, etc. But OGI was my OG stock pick. I rode the ups and downs and averaged down over the course of 2020. Decided to sell for the tax loss at the end and figured I’d wait the 30 day period to buy back in. But then it started moving. And now it won’t stop moving. Not the biggest missed opportunity for me, but it stings because that was the first stock I really felt good about after doing my homework.

Anyway, I liked the company outlook from early on. Efficient production and last I looked the only east coast grow facility in Canada. I probably have some more detailed posts about the company back in this thread.

That said, I personally don’t like chasing... at least not unless I’m chasing small. And at $4 I’d be looking to dump at least 50% of my position at this point. I’m a novice at this, but I’ve learned that managing risk is one of the most important aspects. There will always be more opportunities, but getting stuck holding the bag sucks up that opportunity.

Finally joined the stonk party and deposited 3 g's on webull to mess with. Coming from the crypto/alts side of things where its 85 technicals and 15 fundamentals, this should be a fun experiment.

Going to try playing the after hour gaps for a bit.

OGI - I know what you mean. Have had it a couple of years and road it up and down. Actually bought more at $1.15 in November ... will sell 25% today as it's over $7.00 in pre market. The other cannibas stocks I'm in are:
IIPR in at $65.50 11 months ago. Bought it mostly for it's div. originally but it's more than tripled in price. (dumb luck)
HRVSF in at $1.75 in Nov.
SPRWF in at avg. of .56 about 3+ years ago - loser but has rallied with the rest of the sector lately.

I'm new to all this too but I do have shares of RIOT and MARA which have been doing well for me. Coming from the crypto side of things, you might like the ties they have.

Kicking the tires on MO. Nice yield which seems safe. Reasonable multiple. Gotta figure big tobacco will eventually dominate the pot landscape.

After hours are where the retail investor can capitalize. The pros go home for the day.

God speed, man. That stock simply cannot get out of its own way. I play PM around earnings most time, but MO is so out of favor on the street it is just absurd. Great fundamentals though.

The earnings were ok. That conference call is no longer about the money. It's about the Disney Plus subscribers. Those are some fake subscription numbers though. Many of those are "paid" by another company like a cell phone company. Disney calls them paid subscribers because they are. What they do not disclose is that it is just an additive to another purchase.

That said, you know my feelings on DIS. My daughter is six. She will own it until I die.
