I think what we’re seeing with these cold shooting starts and blowouts is the effect of such a short training camp and preseason.

He played an excellent game, but I'm pretty sure after getting subbed out halfway through the 3rd, he didn't play the rest of the game. Not sure why that was. I think the Kings need to be staggering Holmes and Bagley so that one of them is on the floor at all times. I'd be okay with phasing Whiteside out of the rotation in order to do that.

According to most reports he kind of forced the issue, he only really worked out for the Kings and told other teams not to draft him. He likely avoided the Hawks because the Hawks were signing a SG and a PG so he'd definitely be a backup and the Hawks I believe wanted Okoro or Okongwu for their defensive potential. Pistons were probably rejected. Knicks Toppin was a CAA client so he fit there, Wizards weren't taking him. They wanted a big and Deni was there. Spurs were the only other option.

Kings games are blacked out in my city for some reason so I always just go off box scores. Hopefully the limited minutes is just the Kings being cautious. Really wanna see him do well and go atleast one season without injuries.

I think Luke just didn't want to disrupt the flow of the game. Kings went down by 10 in the first 5 minutes Bagley was on the bench in the 3rd. By the end of the 3rd, they were within 4, so I think Luke didn't want to get in the way of that. Regardless, he was right about his season average in minutes, so I'm not sure how much of an increase there will be unless someone's minutes are decreased.

That said, Kings are 3-1 so if this rotation can result in 0.750 play, I'll take it all season.
