Mets now just need to let MKE win on Sunday at home so MKE can win the division at home in front of it's fans.

They don't need to "let" the Brewers win. The Brewers are just going to win. I'm thinking the Mets win 1 game the rest of the season. And this won't be the one.

This thread has a little (or a lot of) stink on it. You should create a new one the day after the season ends to be used going forward with new hope and a new beginning.

BTW although I wasn't all for it at first, Hill has ultimately pitched pretty well for the Mets. I would not be against him coming back next year as the 5th starter. Then let Peterson/Megill/Luchessi/Yamamoto be AAA backups or bullpen long men. In which case you non tender Gsellman which I think they should do regardless.

I'm letting this ride as I did for years on another site, this way we can look back at the "dark" times when things do get better....I will post an "Year in review" post and some point after the last game is played...

I would expect that the announcement on Rojas will be tomorrow at the latest... possibly some time after the end of today's game...if we're lucky

Close the book on Rojas. It's official. Offered him a tbd job within the organization which I feel was the class move to do but I'd be surprised if he took it. Other coaches will have their fate determined over the next few days. I think Jauss, and Bones stay in some capacity with Heffner likely back as pitching coach. I think everybody else is gone for sure.

Wasn't it rumored that they would try to get Bob Melvin

the rumor was that if they are able to acquire Billy Beane that Bob Melvin would come with him.

I'm thinking about the Mets bullpen for next year. I'm not sure they need to be heavy participants in the free agent market. I assume that they will have 8 men in the bullpen most of the year or at least on opening day. So right now it looks like this....

Castro
Lugo
May
Diaz
Smith
Loup (assuming we can bring him back which should be a priority)
a long man Trevor Williams or Gsellman or Foley

That leaves one spot between Barnes, Yennsy, Oswalt, Reed, Stock, even Peterson or Yamamoto possibly, or possibly Hand on a resign.

Hembree, Familia, Eickhoff, and Betances will all be gone.

After all that it doesn't leave many spots in the bullpen to fill. I know some of you will disagree but I think it would benefit the team to focus on offense, and outside of Loup and maybe Hand let the bullpen stay as is.

The BP was pretty solid, need Loup back for sure and another lefty, Hand maybe, depends who else is avaiable???

There will be injuries and the usual good one year bad the next guys on the Team...

First things first, POBO needs to be resolved quickly before CBA ends 12/1 and play by current rules for FA's Etc...

Brewers denied permission for Mets to talk to David Stearns. Rumor Mets have been willing to trade a top prospect for him. If true that was foolish on the Mets part and more stupid by Brewers to turn down for a guy who has 1 perhaps 2 years left on his contract.

They could look at Michael Hill. Former POBO for Miami who now works for MLB.

There's def something going on here. While they let Cohen buy the team, could there be some sort of front office collusion against him.

It's no secret that there were owners that did not want Cohen buying the team, that's why he brought Alderson along to soften the blow. Not sure there's collusion against him or anything but he's not every owners favorite.

These SNY Mets reporters are awful. This is Danny Abriano's ideal offseason. What a clown.
