This card will mirror Mantle.
Even PSA 1 and 2 Mantles are sky high.

With time, MJ rookie will be at that level. All grades will be high as hell and folks will have to settle for great looking low graded copies. Same for Bron TC and Brady Playoff. Just have to let time play out.

4 years ago I bought a 2013 Silver Giannis. I recently sold it and bought a PSA 8 Jordan RC. That was my plan once the Silver started to go up. If I had thought about it a few months ago I probably could have bought a PSA 9.

I don't have the nice stuff like pcp...but the Trouts, Giannis, Mahomes I do have will hopefully become more GOATs.

I think this card offers A TON of value.

I believe it was short printed, and yet the cost / entry point for the "everyman" collector is still there.

# 57, and the 84 star, and now the '86 sticker going BANANAS leaves us where ?????

as the original OP of this thread I've learned SO MUCH over the last 8 months,
thanks to ALL for their feedback.

this post is for the collector, much like myself, who really enjoys MJ cards, but does have budget limitations.

you can still get in a 6,7, or even 8 at a "relatively" affordable cost.

full disclosure: I have a handful, not gonna make me "rich" either way. LOL

"the train is beginning to leave the station on these", BUT ,their is VALUE.

as always, just my opinion. but, I think its an educated one. hope this helps
and adds to the Jordan discussion.

Thanks Vintg for starting it. I was lucky enough to have found this forum back in April with all the shut downs of covid. Definitely a pleasure meeting others who have the same passion for #57. It has been a hell of a run up and this tread inspired me to add to my collection of #57 a few times already....I owe u a steak dinner Vintg,,,,

Is there a good rule of thumb to estimate prices on a PSA 8.5? I always look at what the 8s are selling for and just assume I can get a little more than that. I don't even bother looking at the prices for 9s because I figure an 8.5 is much closer to an 8 than a 9 in terms of value.

2nd year mj's , #59 if you will, 8.5's are reasonable at $ 750 - $ 850

(9's are just taking off north of 2.5k)

I picked up a BGS 8.5(with subs that add up to 35.5) a couple of weeks ago for $550 so I feel like I got a pretty good deal on it.

there was another psa 10 1986 sold on ebay today for 211,000....how does one buy a card or should I say make a transaction like this over ebay...I would only trust an auction house to make a large transaction like this one. counting i believe its either the 6th or 7th sold over 200k in the past two months....

I would personally fly to where the seller is and complete the transaction at his or her bank.

Hi all - I've been saving up for this card for a while but I simply can't save fast enough! I ended up pulling the trigger on a PSA 4 for $3,500. Part of me feels embarrassed to share this, as I'm a collector who prides himself on having mostly immaculate cards but I'm a lifelong Jordan fan who's also wanted this card since the age of 7 so I feel like I had to get in while I still could. Unless I want to sell my used Prius... Hmm...

You don't have to be a genius to make money in sports cards. All you need is common sense and lack of delusional thinking! I acquired my Jordan Fleer BGS 9.5 for 37.5K and made a 20K (50%) paper profit in two weeks. Better yet, I acquired it in a 100% trade deal. I traded a Trout and Soto RC for my Jordan Fleer BGS 9.5 and my cost basis on Trout and Soto cards was 6K. I am glad that I was able to turn 6K into 60K in two years. Imagine if I had delusional thinking (BGS 9.5 is worth no more than PSA 9) like you
