Some people who accept offers on there will decline with out comment to everything. $4 card, offered $3. Decline. EVERYTHING. Very annoying.

I limit offers to cards listed over $5. When I list those cards I do a an evaluation and list them at a fair price. Sometimes they don’t age well, and I usually evaluate an offer pretty closely. If I’m not going to move my price I don’t usually add a message. If I’m willing to move I’ll counter.

What should I say?

I had one last week listed at $16.99 raw. A PSA8 sold recently for 45. I did tell him on a $10 offer that I wouldn’t move. He then tried $13 which I denied without comment. He bought as listed..

Yep, I have had good luck doing this. Even though they want to establish a cutoff, they have been good about adding sets beyond their set cutoff when requested.

Kind of funny you complained about someone declining your lower offer, but you have this statement in your signature.
"Ask for my "best price" and the price will go up. "

Two totally different things.

Conversely, I might have a card listed for $4.00 that got hot and goes for $10+ on ebay and people will offer $3. I do a quick search on eBay completed listings and get educated. Why wouldn't that person just jump on the bargain and not risk losing the card with a low ball offer? For the record, I think I have declined two offers in about six years and accepted probably about fifty offers.

I accept 75% on anything over $5.

Last night I sold my 10,000th card on Sportlots. I started uploading inventory in July 2020. Not too shabby as that is most likely 2 monster boxes of cards that would be taking up space in my office and eventually given away to a bulk buyer.

I purchased a card from you today based on your response to my question. Even though another seller technically had one a little cheaper, I bought yours at price because you responded and the other seller did not. Thanks!

Sometimes customer service means something, folks.

Thank you for the order. I try to respond to all inquiries. I've sold almost 200,000 cards in the last 16 years.

The only questions I struggle with are condition questions. People want me to stand in for PSA, and I'm not able to do that.

I recently did a small-ish order of four cards to complete my end of a trade. One of them was missing so the seller shipped three. Two were fine but the third had a giant crease despite being listed as NR-MT. This puts me in a tough spot.

This is a seller I've bought from a lot and it's just a mistake (or two) but this is the one thing I don't like about Sportlots.

January was better for me than both November and December combined in terms of dollar amount. It almost did more orders than both combined as well. Hope it was the same for all you guys, and keeps up for us in February.

You sound like an excellent buyer! Understanding of mistakes?? I didn't know that was a thing! As a seller, I'd be perfectly happy to make it right for you in this situation. I bet the seller you bought from would too! I personally really enjoy when buyers reach out to me about a mistake/issue so that I can right that issue -- as opposed to those who automatically assume the worst.

I meant to ask the Sportlots seller group - any luck on selling relics on the site? How well do they move? I usually just trade these in to BO, but was considering listing some. I usually only list non-auto, non-GU, non-SN cards, but may expand that.

The thing is I've probably done at least 50 or 60 orders from this one seller over the last 5 years and he's been excellent. Quite a few of my orders are really mixed because I'm getting tons of diverse stuff for trades so they're likely a huge pain to pull. I'm sure it's well worth it, as they're often in the $50 to $100 range but I appreciate his efforts and almost flawless accuracy - I think of the thousands of cards I've ordered there have been 4 or 5 missing and a few that were badly mis-graded.

There's no way I'd even bother bringing up a couple of low value cards that had issues. I know he'd fix it but not worth the hassle for either of us and this won't stop me ordering from him.

It's still a weakness with Sportlots but one I'm willing to live with given the small percentage of times it happens.

It wasn't - fairly sure it wasn't anyone on this site. I have ordered some stuff from you in the past - I believe 2001 Bowman Heritage! I'm in Canada, which makes larger orders a bit tougher from US sellers...

I'm sure most sellers would be happy to correct an issue like this but sometimes the trade has happened and it's too late...I'm still a Sportlots fan...I guess this is just one of the things that will happen occasionally.

Looking for a little help on a best course of action. Had an order that hadn't shown up to box shipping in a over month. Contacted the seller a couple times and got no response so I disputed the order. Checked a few days later and my account is credited. Well of course now the card is in my "box" to be shipped(and of course right after I had my other items shipped). Is my best course of action to contact the seller or contact Sportlots to get them to them to give the money back to the seller and remove my credit? Thanks.

Never had that happen, but I'd say go through Sportlots to "re-pay" the seller. I think it'd have to go through them to make the transaction reoccur anyways.

If it was a few dollars, I'd probably tell you to keep it. Especially if it caused you to ship again from the box.

Question from the seller side. Does anyone else remove their name and address from packing slips going to box buyers? It's really not necessary there. Lots of crazy people in this world, and I'd like as few of them as possible to have my name and address. lol

For you sportslots users. I need advice.

I am trying to fill gaps in my collection. I don't mind the interface as much, but, my issue it I am just going down my checklist of cards I need and remembering which sellers I already have in my cart is getting burdon some.

Is there something I am missing to somehow highlight users already in my cart when looking at cards available? Or some way I should approach using the site differently? Right now I just pick a year to start with, and set by set for cards I need.

Also, if there are any sellers that don't mind a few back and forth questions. I started the process of trying to add cards to inventory, and got the hang of it. I have about 80K extra commons Buffalo Bills base/inserts that I want to slowly add to just see if I can make a dent in my inventory.

Before I spend a bunch of time adding cards, I want to make sure there aren't any "gotchas" im missing that I should make sure I have set up before I take the amount of time it will take to get this all up on the site.

In the filters there is an option for 'Shopping Cart Sellers.' Just make sure you unselect 'All Sellers' or it will default back to all sellers.
