Friends, I'm a newby to heritage. What is flip stock and how do you know the card is flip stock? And how many flip stock cards are made of each player?

The back of the card feels like the front of the card with flip stock...so the back is smoother and the front is rougher with flip....as far as how many, we once thought flip stock was limited to 5-10...this year, it's WAY out of whack in seeing some posts. Looks like a printing error....

Wow, nice.
I had somehow thought the Black refractors were hobby only.

Well, it is supposed to be "5 copies", but some people are finding boxes/cases filled with flip stocks this year.
So, it is either that the flip stocks are all concentrated into those boxes/cases, or Topps overproduced them, and I actually think Topps might have overproduced them by accident.

It could be that people think they have the flip stock, but it's not actually a flip stock? Do they have a different code?

I opened 6 cases so far and pulled 1 flip stock. It was clear as day when I pulled and knew what I had. The surface is completely different than the regular cards. Here is a pic, although you probably can't tell from the scan

Even in the pic it looks like the front is rough. Some of them listed on Ebay, not so much.

There are no codes on flip stocks and it’s tough to tell the difference in a pic but in-hand it’s easier to notice the difference.

It is a rougher surface than the smooth regular cards. That's how I knew what I had right away. And then the backside is smooth as can be

I always had a few cards that I wondered if they were flip stock or not. Then I actually hit a flip stock and it is extremely obvious.

Probably going to keep. My buddy pulled an Acuna Black Refractor last year from retail, but sold it for 600. He hates himself for doing that.

Smart move. You have absolutely NOTHING to lose by holding it. You're what $20 into it buy buying 2 hangers.

Best case he lives up to the hype and you're making a really nice profit. Even if he tanks you're not losing anything.

Congrats on the massive hit!

Yeah I was very happy to hit that. I’ve done six hangers, one blaster, and two packs. Not too bad.

Honestly, the Heritage Black refractors are one of my favorite cards. I love the way they look.

The flip stock error seems to be concentrated to just a few players (Eloy being the biggest).

Agreed. It's nice when you pull a good player. They sell like hot cakes. I pulled a Bryce in low series and high series.
