Well the NNO is now at least $50 - 100 more in PSA10.
I still think It’s a good buy

I see most people comparing the NNO to the Bat down, which I understand. However, I have been comparing it to a card in the same set, which is Tatis. I think Tatis are $300ish in a 10 and $45-$50 ungraded currently? Not sure, but Vladdy is clearly much more shortprinted than the Tatis is. Add on the tough corner, and 10's (and 9's too) really could become something down the line.

As pointed out, the NNO hasn't even taken off yet...someone mentioned it was criminally cheap in the 30's even after spring training. After the first two weeks, it was inching into the 40's. I think it should have been $50 after his ST and first few weeks, and now after last night it is only getting to that point. What is nice though, it feels like an organic, natural rise and not manipulated/pumped, etc.

As most in this thread probably agree, it still seems way undervalued, and I have sold a few at the $50 mark overnight and today....yet I also feel like I want to keep buying at that as well! Only selling a few off, as I have to pay taxes, and am purchasing some more higher-end items of Vlad.

For those just into the hobby, the Acuna is definitely more SP'ed and iconic (at the moment). However, with that said, I remember purchasing those for $30-$40 at one point too. Not saying NNO will get to where Acuna is at, but there is so much room on these (and the Acuna for that matter), it will be very interesting and fun to see where the NNO's can get to, both ungraded and graded.

THe Flagship RC is also only available in 2019 Series 2 packs. The Tatis RC is in factory sets as well as packs

I just bought 11 more NNOs at ~$50 Raw. I was buying at $30-40 in the offseason, but after his April tear, $50 seems like it's still a really good deal.

I've sold plenty of Tatis #410 base for more than $50, and like the previous poster pointed out, they have to have 2-3+ times the PR.

Im a big NNO fan but just walk cautiously when comparing it to the Bat Down. The Bat Down is 1/5th the PR of the NNO. 20k to 100k. Doesn't mean it can't do really well, just be aware.

I’m a big believer in the NNO—I have about 50 of them—but there are just so many options and so many levels of card (from a Topps Big League base to a Topps Chrome superfractor or US1 platinum), that I don’t think “true RC” or “the card to have” are applicable as definitive labels for any particular cards. (At least, in the last few years this is the case. The further you go back in time, the less murky the picture). Whether the card is the first to dawn an RC, or it’s a flagship or Topps Chrome base, it’s still just one of hundreds of options.

For instance, Acuna and Gleyber have cards in ‘18 Stadium Club that are technically SP photo variations. They don’t have base cards in the set, and these SP’s aren’t exactly embraced as true rookie cards. I couldn’t care less. They’re awesome rookie-year cards with print runs around 250-300. I’d rather have those than their Topps S2 cards. I still have the S2 cards because they’re great collectibles, but I appreciate the Stadium Clubs more.

Yeah, the most popular card that’s widely available is one way to identify the card to have, but that’s more the safe, cover-your-bases approach. In today’s market, with so many quality options, we have the luxury of choosing what we want and still ending up with a great card brimming with value potential.

I understand buying what you like but people are asking about THE RC to have.

I agree NNO would be that even if it isn’t chrome or have parallels which a lot of people gravitate to. Especially if you look at the quality issues so many of them have.

That's a great point, and something I think a lot of people overlook. It's not just about pack inserted PRs, there are SO MANY complete sets printed.

Complete agreement with you here - even the current price of $50 still seems like a great deal and I've jumped and bought a couple more myself. Only see the NNO keeping to climb. I'm planning to ride the wave for a long time and will still be a buyer as that arrow goes up.

Vladdy will be catching up to Acuna, Tatis and Soto

Cards aside - how great of a time to be a baseball fan with such amazing, young talent spread out through the entire league. So fun to watch

This. Vladdy, Tatis, and Soto all 22 years old. Acuna the old man of the group at 23 years old. Fun times indeed

It's an amazing time to be a fan of the game. Too many people get caught up in the cards of it (on here). Todays stats, tomorrows errors. Will they be in the HOF. There's a buzz around these young budding stars. Enjoy them. Root for them. If you are a fan of baseball, you want these guys to succeed. It's great for the game.

I came here to post this same thing. The only thing those two cards have in common is that they're both Series 2 SPs. Other than that, they're very different cards with very different environments surrounding them.

One of the best parts about Vladdy:
K% - 14
BB% - 17.2

Incredibly impressive for a 22 year old to be so disciplined at the plate

I personally believe over the next 12-18 months Chrome will overtake Paper Flagship in almost every regard. Most of the new money coming into the hobby is gravitating toward shiny things, and chrome’s print run is substantially lower than paper (and no complete sets). There will be SP/SSP exceptions like Bat Down and NNO, but how long before the refractor chrome variations overtake the SP/SSP, you know Topps will push more SP’s into Chrome for future years because they know that will drive demand, and even with a 100-200% increase in Chrome print runs it’ll still be less than retail paper (not including complete sets)
