Maybe that print run proves that Devers and Arenado are not hobby relevant.

If I am a Project 70 artist/creative, I stay far, far away from both of them.

Haven't followed this much....

Curious how many of you will be receiving the Bonus Print at the end of the project?

I was going to do Lauren and Chuck Styles, but missed the very first Lauren.

I am holding strong on Chuck Styles though. I am imagine the majority of his pieces remaining will be African American ballplayers so I am hoping for a Jackie and Griffey at least. He will break out every once in awhile so I predict an Ichiro/Ohtani, Vlad/Tatis/Acuna as well in that run. Could also see his project including Satchel Paige, Buck O'Neil, or Ernie Banks.

Either way, I am pretty happy with the decision to collect Styles. Only regret of the group I have is probably Naturel because of the continuity of his design. Also have really loved some of the JK5's.

Pardee is the only print I am still in the running for and I'm not sure how much longer that will last as there have already been a few cards I was on the fence about but talked myself into buying due to FOMO. I do this knowing the print will most likely underwhelm and there will also be no shortage of Pardee prints at the end of all this but I just can't help myself sometimes.

I hear you on the Naturel run. That's going to look reeeaaal nice once all together.

Man. Out of town for the week and so much happens!

Print runs all over the place! Nothing too weird to note. I am worried we'll get way too many Tatises, Ohtanis, Acunas, etc. but what can you do?

I'd say the All-Star set was a win for all involved: Topps, artists, collectors.

Today's cards are pretty sweet. The Phillips is a fun choice, but of you step back it's like he's got teeny tiny legs. Haha. Easy buy for a Blake Jamieson fan.

The Ohtani is ordinary, but nice. The chase card is fine but nothing for me to write home about. Clear maybe.

The Bob Ross Blackmon is pure delight. One of my favorite cards of the whole project.

Tiger stripes Baddoo is not for me, but it's appealing in it's own way.

2.5/4 on the week.

Re: prints, I'm pretty locked in on many, with the following still alive:

JK5
Efdot
Blake Jamieson
Brittney Palmer
Distortedd
Ermsy
Mister Cartoon
Matt McCormick
Infinite Archives
and quite possibly the only Sean Wotherspoon print when all is said and done [I jest, but I know I'm in a minority here].

People actually think Devers and Arenado are hobby relevant?

I really hope the prints are numbered at the end. Wotherspoon and English are really going to be duking it out over the next several months for lowest number of prints.... like less than 50 for each artist is very possible.

I think your missing the point, this is not of Baseball player Brett Phillips, this is of Baseball meme Brett Phillips. The card is in reference to this - https://youtu.be/G_9rvT7XbOc

Correct.

Instead of a Topps NOW card, its like a Topps 2 Weeks Ago card.

For collectors that like to remember funny moments of guys goofing in a blowout loss.

Id say that moment will be more memorable than anything some of the rookies that got P70 cards will ever have.

If you get all 51 prints, do you get a print of the prints? Print-ception!

Won't be getting any prints unless I buy them. Was doing Ermsy, Pardee, Naturel buying individually from Wheeler. The Yermin caused me to stop Naturel, then stopped buying from Wheeler and went back to buying direct from Topps. I do plan on trying to buy a Action Bronson and Bobby Hundreds print once it's all over. Part of me wouldn't be surprised if Topps either "forgets" about them or just sends out some really cheap picture of all 20 cards

In theory I'll be getting Ermsy and Shore from Wheeler. I still have Pardee, Vides, and Distortedd going, but losing interest.

I don't collect modern cards, but if Devers isn't hobby relevant than the hobby is dumb. Guy should be right there with the big 5 of Tatis, Acuna, Vlad, Ohtani, and Soto. Still only 24 as well. Beast.

It does seems impossible to do a full set of hobby relevant players, as there are about 10 or so.

(I only collect Yankees base-type cards and Project 2020/70, so am not fully versed in hobby relevance.)

I was going through inventory today, condensing storage "shoe" boxes to make room for more incoming cards, when I realized how much I enjoy looking at Project cards that came out early on. Some of them look great and truly bring joy.

With the almost day to day addition of new cards to the Project, it's easy to forget some of the earlier releases and how much we enjoyed them at the time. At least for me.

People will build these sets, (or at least mini sets within the 400 and 1020-card sets), for a long time to come. They are enjoyable. It's the currently perceived never-ending buying that can make it difficult to enjoy at times. Once we get past that, I believe we will all find renewed pleasure collecting these cards. Possibly even renewed excitement. I'm confident I will. I haven't stopped liking them yet.

i feel weird collecting cards as an adult. the project cards help with that.
i bought a bunch of modern slabs and feel silly. thinking about selling them all for more project money. im pretty sure i made good buys and will at minimum double my money, so theres that i guess. not sure i can sell my lamelo ball cards though, that may become a pc thing.

I agree. I think we’re too close to these with the daily, microscope-level instant reviews.
Also strongly agree about people potentially building mini-sets down the road.

yes, collectors will collect, as long as the price is right for each particular collector

It would be like when UD had the player holding the card you were looking at…and you tried to see how many layers you could see

I agree, but am worried that Topps won't give these cards time to breath before the next project.

Do the all star cards count as part of the full 20 card set or is that separate?

I didn't buy one thinking it was separate so I hope that's the case.
