The production lead times for the cards aren't short, so all the early ones are in Team Canada jersey so they can include him in the sets. Eventually you'll see largely every card shifting to Chicago outside of a rare Program of Excellence or something similar

I saw some 2023-24 star rookie set boxes at walmart for $30. The bedard sells for like 25-30 bucks. What am i missing? is this a no brainer to buy? then you get a parallel card with a shot at Bedard

I'd say in the short-term it's worth a shot, wouldn't buy a case but I'd try a box or two if you plan on selling immediately, this isn't a stash box or stash rookie for Bedard. Likely won't make anything unless your parallel is Bedard or a non-blue but likely won't lose either unless you wait to sell after YG, so not a bad gamble imo. Also the shot at the one in a billion autos that include Bedard that S2 won't even have. The other guys without YG's yet will prob also go for a $1 or so, I'll prob grab a box but wouldn't recommend once S2 releases, similar to how even if he has some incredible game unless it's an insane record breaker I wouldn't buy any Game Dated Moments after S2

I like the look of the card too. A shot at some parallels, why not?

Even when dust settles what a $5-$10 RC, that's not bad with 24 other rookies and shot at parallels/autos. I'm with you. I feel like people might get priced out of the young gun quick too.

could there be some potential hold with these, considering what could be inside the box. that usually can help hold value. 1 in 25 chance in hitting a bedard parallel.

I wouldn’t put my money in it. Retail only product with tons of better stuff on the way.

As others have pointed out, it’s not a foregone conclusion that Bedard is gonna be able to maintain any of these current prices. Yes, he’s going to be a star with crazy offensive skills. But he’s going to need to dominate the game like McDavid and I’m not sure we’ve seen that level of play yet.

It does have more potential now with the parallels but I' m just basing off the price of the rookie set boxes and cards for Mcdavid etc, me comparing? WHAT lol but I think for that card it will be similar. It depends your intention though, I always assume people only want to hold items that have a chance at a huge increase over time, I'm sure if he pans out these could double-triple in price but they will never be $200 boxes imo, and if the 1/1 is still in boxes by then it could boost prices but it will also lower prices as Bedard parallels are pulled (ie if the 1/1 and all /5 are pulled). There will also be a similar box to this dedicated to ALL Bedard, they did it with Laffy and Mcdavid, if anything I say hold that as at least it will have multiple Bedard "rookies" guaranteed and if they do parallels that would 100% be it.

Be careful buying those. I just opened 4 of them and each Bedard had corner/edge flaws. I luckily pulled an Auto but even that had edge/corner whiting.

Make sure you read anusinha and my previous posts before trying to be a smart guy. If people can reply to my opinion I can respond back, stay angry the Mcdavid set went up when you prob all said it was a bad buy back then though. Glad the YG is almost out and I can take a break from this thread, i'm sure the hate on everything now will just lead to another 50 pages of hating qualitycontrol/number of Bedards etc. Enjoy.
