I guess anything is possible, we are talking about eBay here, but allowing chosen sellers or consignors to bypass the program kind of defeats the purpose.

If this was a thing early on, I am pretty sure it's not the case...at least now. COMC, probstein stuff, etc still goes.

If you can provide some concrete links of the above, in terms of listings from consignment sellers that you think are getting through, more can be said.

I only have purchase that was within the 90 day viewable but it did meet your criteria about a color with the word auto. Why does any color rule out an auto? Assumption it’s an in-person? That’s a weak circumvention imho.

If you're talking about Probstein or similar consignors, they actually overnight large shipments to Florida or wherever they are supposed to go. Also, I believe they actually walk-in batches to the PSA offices in New Jersey since they are only miles apart. So it's not exemptions per se' but working smarter, not harder.

You can search your purchases and find items going years back. Will at least have the title, which is usually the culprit.

“Ink” excludes an item.

Well one I see from Early March says not available when clicked upon. But here’s my most recent: https://www.ebay.com/itm/134557397290

I assume gold ink caused the issue?

Ok. Lol in terms of that working as that could be abused easily.

When they first started the program, I sold a Kawhi Leonard Flawless Premium Ink Ruby /15 and failed to put auto in the title just Ink since the set name but they did not authenticate sigs at that time. So they failed it and I had to relist properly titled. Only time I failed to put auto or autograph when necessary but funny it’s used to rebuff now.

Yea as mentioned above, it's the ink. Silver ink is another common one.

As you're saying, I think people who get cards in person signed, signed 8x10s etc typically use the terminology of what color ink, and what probably happened is Authenticity Guarantee kept getting those in and labeling as miscategorized that they save a lot of resources by just exempting the word. My guess at least.

It is true any of these keywords are an easy workaround from Authenticity Guarantee. But the thing is, why would any seller selling a legit card want to avoid the program.

Yup. Title said Mega Box Auto. Details listed as a single. That's just crazy to me.

Sorry in advance if this has been asked but this thread is too long to go through. What happens if the card gets lost/not received when it goes from the authenticator to the buyer? In other words, the authenticator receives the card but it gets "lost" when they ship it out.

eBay would refund the buyer.

Also I know that this topic has been beaten like a dead horse but this program is a major headache for those who sell digital cards on ebay (think Star Wars Card Trader, BUNT). Forces you to choose local pick up essentially which can be annoying when you have to hound the buyer for their 6-digit code to say they received it

Yep as a seller I love the program

I sold red ink auto from heritage for 300 and it did not go

Why can’t it be anything in sports card singles over 250

It’s frustrating

On side not as much as I live it as a seller when it works

I hate as buyer.

Last one took 15 days to get to me. Item sat at authentication from Thursday till the next Wednesday

I just won three cards from one guy. All qualifying. So I pay $15 shipping and so does he to send three separate packages to CGC, who will then send three separate packages to me. Brilliant stuff.

Recently sold a PSA graded card that failed authenticity do to description error…weird as card is picture in the PSA database. Anyone know How I go about finding out what the description error was?

Email noted The item was miscategorized in your listing

Check the listing details -- perhaps you put the incorrect team or some other minor error.

Was the slab damaged in any way?

Was it listed as Graded: No?

Link would help a lot.

Buyer beware -- high grade raw vintage singles sold as 'lots' will bypass authenticity. Strange thing is the 60 day return policy. One of the listings from this seller (pcbcomicsandsports) popped up in one of my saved searches and it immediately looked suspicious because of the 'lot' aspect. Some listings don't have an image of the back. Some of the feedback has been issues with condition or with the back having undisclosed flaws.

The most expensive one at the moment is this '54 Hank Aaron, NM-MT:

Then you should be good -- it has to be something in the item specifics that set it off. Even the wrong team, player, or league in a drop down could result in that response.
