No Yankees! And only one California! Other than Ohtani, who is playing out of his mind so should get lots of cards, all HOFers with few cards in the set.

Still disappointed by the lack of current players this week but today is a really good group of underrepresented HOF players.

im not a psa guy, but what it the purpose of HGA? do they have a guarantee? do they have insurance to cover this guarantee? if not, they are not going to be around very long.

i have been buying csg slabs left and right (getting really good deals). i think they are going to be psas big competitor in the future. i do worry about the slabs holding up though. they look and feel way nicer than psa, but i was at first worried about they scratching overly easy (like one touches), then i received a package saturday for 3 kyle lewis chrome 9.5s and every slab was badly damaged. one has over 30 cracks in it. it was from a high volume (reputable) seller, it was just the three slabs stacked together in one of those cheap bubble mailers. there was no damage to the bubble mailer. at first i thought the seller damaged the slabs out of anger because it probably cost him $60 to grade what sold for $50 shipped. (i have had this happen alot on p2020 cards). dont think thats the case as he left positive feedback as soon as i paid (i always see this as a sign of a stand up seller) and has 100% feedback with 1000s of feedback. So im starting to think the slabs may be real fragile. so im still on the fence even though i have been buying alot. if you like hga what do you think about sgc?

sgc used to be my favorite (back when they had their unique scale, where ran by what seemed to be mobsters, etc.), but i hate there newer labels. they look so off brand and cheap now. their message board used to be one of the greatest things in the hobby. so many really old people w/ amazing collections..

i do not have any hga slabs yet. there seems to be a problem w. sellers canceling sells as soon as the auction ends (like before ebay even sends you the "hey you won" email). im at 3 auctions won, all three canceled. i have been having that problem w/ project card auctions and sgc auctions as well. mpst of these project card artist proof auctions that you see ending for less that $100 are being canceled by the sellers when the auction ends. ebay really needs to do something about that.

Depends on the mascot. Some of them are under the MLB copyright umbrella, while others aren't. Phillie Phanatic is I think the most famous mascot who isn't.

I wonder if thats still totally the case though? Because this years Phanatic is technically a New Phanatic, they had a conflict with the creators of the Phanatic and made a new one with several changes that most would only notice if they looked at them side by side. But I suppose it must still be under the team control and not MLB?

It is nice to see Pirate Parrot on a card though. Really was hoping Quiccs was going to put the mascots on all his cards after his debut with Ernie Banks + Clark the Cub

I'd rather the mascot not be on that Clemente card....I think its fantastic with the exception of the bright green mascot being on the card and taking eyes away from everything else that's great about that card design. The Brooks Robinson is pretty nice. Not a fan of the Ron English direction on the Ted Williams but I can see his cards looking good together. The Ohtani is ok.

Today's Clemente looks like a Getty image where he is popping out to the second baseman or shortstop.

Today is tempting me to go with a 4 pack. Quiccs and Ted Williams both fit into my ongoing artist/team sets, the Brooks is great, and the Ohtani is solid as well. The Quiccs Clemente is my favorite of the day, but really strong day in total

I feel like sometimes these artists don't realize how the image will translate to a small card. Maybe I'm wrong and they scale it down to check before finalizing. IMO, they often times try to cram in too much within those few inches. The Clemente is a prime example.

I will get the Williams, but man it is weird. Maybe the bright yellow shirt is a reference to the special uniforms the Red Sox wore earlier this year?

The Clemente is ok, but as mentioned before, that card is busy. The mascot is cute but there's enough to not like about this card, for me.

I am definitely continuing my Blake Jamieson set. I am loving what he's doing in Project70 compared to what he did in Project 2020. I hope this at least this is an ok consolation prize for those who want Frank Robinson.

The card we previewed last week but totally takes the day is the Ohtani (unless the color scheme turns you off). The bat poking through the A, the seriousness of the face, and then the incredible big face peering at the viewer from the back that evokes a jokester, or maybe danger...really strong effort from Taylor. I love this card.

5/12 on the week.

Yeah I just noticed the "Ted Williams" is no longer in the same script font from the 1970 topps cards that he has used on every single other card he has made. He also doesnt have the team name in the upper right (or left) hand corner of the card like has had on every other of his cards.

Quiccs has really been killing it. May end up circling back and completing his set. I think that Clemente is gonna look sharp in person. Taylor's Ohtani is solid and I feel like it'll make for a nice foil. I wish he'd change his color palettes between cards but I guess he's one of the few that care deeply about the poster.
