US sees more signs Russia feeding emails to WikiLeaks - CNNPolitics.com

Ok, so I'm trying my best to understand this.

(1) There is ZERO evidence presented that the Russians are involved in anything. "Just trust us", says U.S. Intelligence.

(2) There is ZERO evidence presented that Russia has any connection to Wikileaks.

(3) U.S. Intelligence effectively wants to fight back against Russia, for ... hacking a Campaign Chairman's email account? Not even an elected official?

It's becoming pretty clear to me that Russia is being used as a Boogeyman.

From what I've read, their intention is to wait long enough so that the Dems wouldn't have enough time to find a replacement candidate.

There isn't a democrat in the country that could separate themselves from a true Obama self destruction. If we are truly talking about a treasonous crime and if people that truly want to keep dems out of office have it - they would have been far better off to release the information the minute they got it.

Obama would be run out of office and everyone that had ever been tied to him (which is every Democrat) would be destroyed for this Presidential cycle.

There was a pretty interesting article in Time here a week ago maybe. Topic was Russia, current cyberthreats, some of their actions during recent elections throughout Europe and then what the reality of our exposure is and how severe it could get (ie - could they fix the election results).

The biggest exposure according to this article are things that are likely too small to impact the overall results (ie voter registration info, polling info, etc) on one end and a giant pain in the rear for the campaigns themselves (internal hacks, information theft, email, etc).

We'll see how valid this article and all the rumor-mongers are - my gut tells me it will be far less impact-full than many fear.

All true until the US Government presents the people w/ evidence of a hack. Somehow, I have a feeling that if there are videos / leaks truly damaging to the political infrastructure of the Democratic campaign (Clinton, POTUS, whatever) ... then I do believe we'll attack Russia in some way. If nothing comes to fruition and Clinton wins in a landslide, this is all forgotten by Thanksgiving.

It's the only rational conspiracy theory. The DNC watches Tea Party extremists hijack the GOP and so they roll out a living charicature of every "angry old white guy". Then they sit back and watch as the Republican leadership abandons sinking ship.

The crazy thing is, if Trump wins he could enact the most liberal legislation ever and as long as he keeps up the politically incorrect rhetoric the "Don't Tread On Me" crowd would eat it up. Strange really.
