I feel like we are missing too much information to know if it's going to be good. What are the fees, how long will it take to get listed, what happens if something doesn't sell, what happens if it's an unpaid item, how will they prevent shilling, how can we track these items during auction, is there a limit to how many items they can list a week.....so many questions at this point and very little information. These were just a few that came to mind in a quick thought.

I think the positive results that can come from this are so high that most of the negative Nancys on the board are staying quiet thus far. As soon as they release more details, they will find something to complain about.

I just recently moved all of my items from eBay to COMC just before they decided to allow returns. I was bummed about that but it will be fine.

I am excited about the auctions because I do plan on liquidating my port and it might be a good option. I just wish the they could do better scans of my high end cards. It seems like when they are in a top loader the scan comes out horrible.

I'm happy it's gonna happen. I just feel like the fees and execution of it will be awful.

You're right about that, but it's probably bc we have so few details

The detail I am waiting on? Shipping time. Critical in the ebay world.

They already sell BIN on ebay. I can't think of any reason the shipping would have any variance for auctions.

I am not jumping for joy because doesn't COMC have enough on their plate? How many items are either open or not functioning properly?

1. Trimmers on COMC...I guess this helps because now the cards will leave the site and not be stuck in our small ecosystem. Haven't heard anything or any updates regarding this...

2. James mentioned numerous times that the automatic shipping fee shouldn't be added to cards priced under $5 for ebay...what happened? It still is being added...and I guess the programmers cannot stop this from happening but can create a new option for auctions on ebay? Cmon James if this is the new norm just admit it. Stop with the lies...I wouldn't submit...what is it around $3.50-$7 cards if I know everyone will be listed at $8-$10...

3. Cards still being misplaced in other user accounts and damage to cards being submitted. People have to complain on here that cards are being submitted to the wrong user accounts and it still takes a week? to move them to the correct account.

4.Not fixing correction requests...you mark cards that don't look damaged into buckets but cards that have damage are ignored.

5. Customer service...people shouldn't need to complain on here regarding simple problems because noone replies to them when they need help.

These are some of the problems...and now they want to take on auctions? Maybe fix some of the current problems or just admit that they will never be fixed.

So an algorithm is going to tax them so intensely they won't be able to fix anything? So cynical. I get replies all the time from CS, but I only message on Twitter. I also get correction requests done quickly. Never had a card moved to the wrong bucket.

If you have a problem, don't submit like you said, but stop acting like the auctions will change anything.

You are correct. Auctions won't change anything...other than either add problems or continue to leave the same problems unaddressed.

So I guess all the people who come to complain about not having their problems addressed are lying? Cmon...

btw you only submit customer service requests on twitter? Seriously? Sort of like posting all peoples problem customer service requests on a blowout forum board like the other forum members were complaining about 10-20 posts back? Try emailing them or calling them and then get back to us about the response times.

The same could be said in reference to those worried about the fees. What would the difference be? I guess we will find out.

This is something I don’t get, why wouldn’t you give more effort to resolve issues that are e-mailed to you? I know if it was my business I would do what I could to resolve issues before the whole world hears about them. By having subpar customer service initially it just leads to issues getting aired on here and on twitter in front of many more eyes and the perception of your company suffering because of it. Even if James gets the issue taken care of, it hurts COMC in the long run. Yet it happens over and over.

Comc will charge at least $.30 to list each card as an auction.

Why no excitement? Because they have not told us the ridiculous fees they will likely charge!

It also may not even happen. They have a long history of promising things they never do.

A month or so ago they said they were going to have a high-end item event, then scrapped that when it was outed that the group of people submitting items for this event were main culprits in all the fraud in the hobby.

I'm definitely happy to hear that COMC will be adding an option to list a card for eBay auction. Obviously it will have some additional fees involved, but it will help move "dead" inventory on COMC.

If they can find a way to work in and promote combined shipping on the auctions, it should help increase bidding and encourage buyers to bid on more than one card to save on shipping.

It should also help drive a lot of new traffic to the COMC website - and hopefully prompt more direct sales there.

Definitely a lot of positives that can come from it if it is executed correctly.

How long does it take them to refund for a return? Been a week.

Depends on how much they feed the hamsters.

They are already listing the cards on eBay (fixed price) and making money so I don't know why they should charge anything extra for auctions.

At most they should do a .10 per card auction listing fee but only to help deter someone trying to list thousands of cards at once. It would be better to just put limits on how many listings per auction week per seller - or allow lots to be auctioned.

Also, not a fan of making these pre-announcements where no details are given and a launch date stated.

Anyone request a shipment from COMC recently? I did a couple weeks ago, was supposed to be packed out and shipped by 11/4. First time they have missed a target date shipping for me. Was the only thing they seemed to do well too. Anyone else with recent shipping issues?

I've had a Gleyber Torres card marked "item locked, contact support" since the ALCS. Emailed COMC, no reply. Requested correction to unlock it, they marked the request complete and left it locked. Submitted a second correction request to unlock specifically saying that support hasnt returned my email, and so far nothing.

It would be nice to get my card unlocked before the black friday sale now that the best opportunity to sell, during the ALCS, has already passed. Or you know, might be nice if COMC would actually send an email when they lock an item rather than expecting you to take the initiative to discover that they locked your card and email them to find out why they decided to lock it.

Is it graded? Don’t think I sent in any Torres, but that’s what COMC is apparently doing with all altered cards I sent them one-by-one.

Nope. Ungraded, just a topps heritage mini. No idea why it would have been locked.
