He's a profit monster for the Yanks and he's just a great baseball player and leader in that clubhouse. Next should be the table setter, Trea Turner. 3rd, address the 1st base situation. If they can't resign Rizzo, then go get Josh Bell. He's probably going to be cheaper and he's a switch hitting bat. Lastly, with Torres under control for a couple more years, let's move him and another player(not sure who) and go get Bryan Reynolds. Another great bat and fielder. And yet another switch hitting bat. Pitching seems to be fine. I'd say Rodon but don't think Hal is willing to spend THAT much $$$. Your starting 9 would be C- Trevinio 1B - Rizzo or Bell 2B- Turner/Volpe/ Peraza SS - Turner/Volpe/Peraza 3B - LeMahieu LF - Reynolds CF - Bader RF - Judge DH - Stanton. Cabrera is your Super Utility. That's a nice and affordable lineup for the Yanks in their market!!
That lineup would be an excellent Xmas present but this is your friendly reminder that this isn't the Yankees you grew up with.

You keep talking like the Yankees really care about winning the world series. They only want to make the playoffs and make a huge profit. Player salaries as a percentage of revenues are way down. HAL likes money more than trophies.

Good article on that even though it only goes through 2019.

Amazing that in 2003 they invested 75% of their revenue towards payroll.

Given their revenues, the luxury tax should not even apply

It looks like we still have a first baseman.

The Yankees and Anthony Rizzo are in agreement on a multi-year deal, reports Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. It’s a two-year deal plus a club option, per Andy Martino of SNY.

It’s a two-year, $34MM deal, per Jack Curry of YES Network, with a $17MM club option for 2025 that has a $6MM buyout. That makes it a $40MM guarantee.

Very nice. He's a good player, and a good role model for the younger players coming up. Him being friends with Judge doesn't hurt either.

Maybe without the shift he can hit a bit better. Not a terrible deal.

Rizzo staying will be a big part of Judge's decision on whether to come back or not. Huge re-signing.

Agree! I’m sure Rizzo and Judge have been talking about him returning; hence why Rizzo committed to resign

Hopefully as short lived. I'm hoping he is a backup after they determine in spring training that one of the two Orlando's or Volpe gives them a better defense option at SS.

Here's hoping Judge wins the MVP tonight and signs back with the Yankees soon after.
