I'm thinking about starting a new project where I deposit a small amount (probably $15-20) and work with making profits off of flipping a few small cards at a time. Can anyone give me any tips on how to get started? And are there any fees or loopholes that I should be looking out for?

That's a smart idea; I took my flip profit from January and bought an Ernie Banks rookie. Just bought a Mike Schmidt OPC rookie today as well.

Recommendations:
1) Read through the threads to see what sells. If it sells on eBay/Amazon(?) they will take 20% off the top.
2) Only fees are a penny per month per card listed over 75 cents in Advanced Resellers Mode.
3) Cards normally don't show up on eBay unless they're priced at least 74 cents. Buying a card for 8 cents, relisting for 75 cents, and then having it sell on eBay gets you 60 cents (after the 20% fee), netting you a 52 cent profit. Do that a few times and you make $5.
4) Best places to look for flip cards are highly discounted sales and newly listed cards.

Is there any way to tell what you had a card listed for? I finally did a flip but I would have swore I put it at $20 yet it sold on ebay for $12. Doesn't ebay cost 20%? So I shouldn't I have gotten $16?.

what I like most is that
a) mine wasn't even the cheapest comc card available on ebay and
b) there are cards from other sellers on ebay for much less.

so I got lucky but maybe selling via comc is helping sellers get a better price.

there are some attractive features about the comc marketplace for buyers
you basically have a neutral 3rd party that makes sure the card is nice and has no incentive to lie about the condition of the item. plus they have dedicated fulfillment so you know it gets done correctly and w/o drama. we've all received those "i was hospitalized" emails from sellers.

This will be a good one! Bought 6 or 7 James Hardens Topps RCs all for less than 10, and graded them all for 12 ea through COMC. Only 2 have come back but it's a GREAT start!
