On the par 3 9th the drive was a bit errant and she clipped a fan, but no damage done. She ended signing the ball for the lucky fan.

I saw her top 1 long putt and fall well short, but another long lag putt she got within 3 feet. Can't seem to find any actual scoring numbers yet.

Being paired with one of (if not the best) golfer in the world, Nelly Korda. No pressure, Caitlin!

She was only paired with Nelly for the first 9, she is now playing with Annika.

Not bad, playing with both the current #1 and a living legend.

I guess she drilled some fan with a tee shot during her round. Lol
But they got an autographed ball from her.

Yeah, on the par 3 9th. Got a good look at the ball, a Titleist 22

They just showed a brief highlight reel from CC, from the holes they showed there were 5 pars, 1 bogey and a birdie.

Her drives were a bit off, but she seemed really good with her chipping. Her putting was a mixed bag, some really good putts and some not so good.

How do you guys see Clark's card market performing from now until the WNBA season kicks back up? Obviously it's the "offseason" so typically that's when card prices sag a bit. But since the WNBA plays its season pretty much when the rest of basketball (NBA and college) is off, it's a bit weird. Also, I'd expect the big name players in any sport (like Ohtani in baseball) to not suffer as much drop off, if any, during their offseason.

With the college bball season just kicking off and interest in women's ball as big as ever (Paige B, JuJu, etc), I don't expect Clark's market to drop off much at all. Will be interested to see how her Iowa stuff does compared to her Fever cards though.

I've been tracking Clark's Bowman U Best autos pretty closely, and they seem to be retaining their value very well so far.

I agree with the points you mentioned and offer another one: Panini has been very slow with releasing new products and that has a side effect in that it keeps collectors engaged with the market. I haven't heard when Prizm will be released, but the longer that drags out, the closer you get to the next season.

The Fever vs Iowa value discussion is interesting, too.

The Iowa cards have some advantages, particularly when it comes to autographs:
  • The 2022/2023 Bowman 1st and Bowman U Best autographs are better than any Panini autograph. They are cleaner/more detailed and there's only a finite supply. This will help hold their value.
  • 2023/2024 has some on-card autographs that are nicer than anything we've seen from Panini. I'm a big fan of the Greatness Awaits autos. Some of these you can get at a pretty reasonable value, IMO. If Panini doesn't release any on-card autos, this will help with the value of the on-card autos from her Iowa days
  • Some of the inserts and case hits are interesting, I think these could still do OK even in an Iowa uniform.

One set that might suffer a bit is the Caitlin Clark Collection. The quality of this set from Panini on this was poor and I think this hurts its long-term value. There's couple diamonds in the rough (like the Razzle Dazzle, Fearless and Artistic Selections inserts), but the base set, parallels and autographs might take a hit. I'm a big fan of autographs, but you can get better sticker autos in other sets.

Prizm draft picks comes out in December. I assume CC in an iowa jersey but the RC shield on cards. How do you think that will do compared to bowman? I would expect select to hold much more value then her draft picks stuff.

I think Bowman and Select will hold up better than Prizm Draft Picks. I expect she'll be in an Iowa uniform with the RC shield, like you said. To me, the use of the RC shield feels disingenuous. I'm of the belief that the RC shield should be reserved for pro cards. That said, I'm still interested in a few cards from this set, particularly the stained glass, manga and Net Marvels (assuming she has this, which I think is likely). I'm usually pretty excited about autographs, but I don't have high hopes for the autographs in this set. We'll have to see though. The price point of the hobby boxes looks better, at least compared to Select.

From what I can tell, for on-card Clark autos, there really aren't a lot of them out there currently. There are some Bowman Now on-card autos (and maybe some Panini Instant?), but I am only looking at autos that can be pack pulled. Here's the list I've compiled:
  • '23-24 Bowman Sapphire Selections /10, /5, /1
  • '23-24 Bowman U Best Greatness Awaits /75, /50, /25, /10, /1
  • '23-24 Bowman U Best Buckets Die-cut /75, /50, /25, /10, /1

I don't think any of the current WNBA sets out there have on-card Clark autos. If I've missed something, please let me know!

Yep, Sharpshooters, Prodigal Playmakers (all parallels) and Prime Signatures (all parallels) are on-card autos from '23-'24 Bowman U Chrome.

And Sapphire Selections is on-card on all parallels including /50.

That is crazy that Panini hasn't come out with an on-card Clark auto yet! Even the blue viper 1/1 auto that sold for nearly $100k last month is a sticker!

Sorta shocked this card sold for as much as it did. A PSA 10 (true gold instead of geo gold) sold for $2.5k BIN on eBay a couple weeks ago.

I’m naively hoping Panini will surprise us and have the ROY autos be on-card since it seems like she did a signing recently for them (for all of those jerseys at least)

I think I have one of these. Both the normal gold and geo versions. It definitely did not cost this much at release tho.

This card (gold/geo gold) PSA 10 sold for well under $2k within the first couple months of release. I see 1 sale of a gold PSA 10 for $1,200 on May 6th. The price has definitely gone up!

I'm not surprised. I'd say $4k is on the upper end of the range and $2.5k is on the lower end of the range for a /50.

These cards are really cool because she's legitimately great, and this card features a nice, big & bold on-card auto. That combination makes it very collectible, even with the college uniform. I have a gold PSA 10 of this card and it's on my "do not trade or sell" list.

Probably because they labeled it a rookie. Which it’s not even if you consider ‘22 Bowman 1sts as “rookies”.

I've also noticed that the orange /25's (at least from the Bowman sets) barely command a premium over the gold /50's for Caitlin. I've even seen a couple instances where the orange /25 sold for less than the equivalent gold /50 (not sure if that was just a "bad" auction result for the seller or that's just the market reality). It would make some sense where people actually value the gold /50's more than the orange /25's (especially her Iowa cards) as the golds are a team color match.
