Hello, last I checked, Steph has a ring.

Last I checked, Steph and KD will end up with more rings than Lebronimite.

Who knows? Maybe with their combined choking ability they'll be able to pull one out one of these days.

I'll enjoy when Golden State gets knocked out and you disappears from the board for 3 month again. lol

Anyways, I'm done arguing with a 13 year old for the night.

I think GS needs to break the 4 game losing streak they have against the Cavs before the automatic ring is given to them this year.

Russ had an awesome overall game but again had a chance to hit the big shot at the end when it was tied and missed. He's obviously the reason for the winning record but I just don't see them getting over the hump with the supporting cast and Russ hovering around 40% shooting.

Tonight was a great example of the conundrum of having Westbrook on your team. The same will to win can allow him to get you right back in the game, but won't allow him to trust anybody else in crunch time.

But who else would you want with the ball on that team in crunch time?

Westbrook is not good the last couple minutes with the game on the line.

Opponents also obviously know who to focus on during the final few minutes. Perhaps they should try and give Kanter the ball in the high post and let him work. Then have WB can move far away to help spread the defense.

The final shot went to Kanter, with Westbrook far away.

Only .7 seconds left, but they tried it and it didn't work.

Shot? That's a tip play. Kanter went 5-7 without that shot.
Westbrook did however shoot with 6.8 seconds left and missed on a three. I'd rather have kanter ISO post and if need be kick it.

There were a few times in the last couple minutes where Russ made no illusion as to what was about to happen. No one should have a problem with Russ taking the final shot on possessions deep in the game. What doesn't cut it is dribbling the ball at the top of the key until there's 8 secs on the shot clock, while your teammates stand by watching.... then taking a junk jumpshot.

OKC could have won their last 2 games, but RW has been out of sorts. Not making the right choice to win the game. Of course, he's gonna do some crazy ish next week and we'll never remember tonight

I'm sure you're being snide as usual but I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. That miracle attempt is your way of saying that someone other than WB does get their share of looks in the final minute of the game?

It's like putting a pinch hitter in the game in the 9th after the batter has two strikes.

Kanter can't do any worse in the final minute than WB trying to play hero

The point was that I wasn't sure if you actually watched the game or not.

You said Kanter should get the ball in the post with RWB far away.

I pointed out that was exactly what happened. I didn't try to defend the missed three. I didn't try to say that the distribution was equitable. I was just pointing out that what you said should happen, happened.

If anything it should have been taken as a compliment saying "Hey, what you mentioned was the same thing that Billy Donovan was thinking. However, it didn't work out." But no, you had to go the move negative place with it and assume it was a pot shot.

And maybe if you didn't go in thread celebrating the achievements of a guy who is playing as hard as anybody in the league and try to cut down him and his fans, you wouldn't be used to so much hostility. Save if for a "who's better discussion" thread. Save it for your Golden State thread. I don't go on there to remind you of how awesome it was celebrating the biggest win in NBA history on your home floor.

My response was to the question that was being asked. I gave my opinion of who besides wb should get touches in crunch time. My thought was Kanter and you point out that miracle attempt with no time on the clock trying to knock my response. It seems to you that any comments not praising the ground he walks on is "hating" but if you can turn off your bias just a bit, you might see things a bit differently. Is wb an incredible player? Sure. Does that mean he shouldn't have to defer to anyone else on the team?

Kanter is a very good offensive player. Why not give him a shot to do something with the ball in the final couple minutes when the defense is clearly focusing on westbrook who they know will have the ball and shoot the ball when the game is on the line ? Is that hating on westbrook?

Not, but calling me snide is hating on me, and making it personal when we were just talking about basketball.

You'll also notice that nowhere did I make excuses for Westbrook in this game, even though he had monster numbers and it was a teammate who blew the defensive assignment that allowed the game winning free throws...it doesn't matter; when you are shooting to be an MVP level superstar you have to find a way to get it done in the clutch. MJ did it, even if it was allowing Kerr to get the shot.... Lebron did it, even if it was making the block to set up Kyrie to make the shot... Duncan did it, even if it was helping Horry make the shot. Harden did it yesterday by finding Nene when Adams came off of him.

Regardless, watching RWB having a historic start to a season and giving OKC a chance to play meaningful games, even with an incomplete roster, is a lot of fun. It's even more fun without having to deal with unprovoked personal insults.... let's save that for the Cavs vs Warriors NBA Finals thread.

Ironically, in the two games this post was made he's gone 15-27 shooting 3's.

That's nasty.

But yea, a lot of games he shoots too many.

Ohh ya, and huge game tonight.

There's no winning in the public's mind when you're the one superstar on your team. If you shoot too much, people say you should pass it (Westbrook). If you make the right play and look for the open man instead of taking the shot in the final minute or two, the media and everyone else thinks you're scared and weak (LeBron on the pre-Heat Cavs teams). No matter what the superstar does, very few people outside of the fans of that specific team will stick up for them.

Regardless, most people will find something to be dissatisfied about. This is coming from a Spurs fan who has no bias towards Westbrook or LeBron. I just enjoy watching greatness.
