the huge mass production of Hoops Premium retail certainly helped kill momentum of a lot of other products

Yeah I’m not sure this is much of a debate. The waves didn’t stop.

Distribution was supposed condensed into weeks rather than months in Canada, just what I hear/saw. Imagine seeing 40-70 hangers at a time when 9-27 is norm. Then suddenly 3 weeks in, gone. If no one has hard numbers calling something over produced because you see a lot for sale is just a guess. Usually supply/demand is what we are seeing. So if we see a lot still for sale it speaks to demand. |

It stocked heavy for somewhere along the line of 12 weeks. I did see weeks of 80 hangers in one store on top of that. there’s no debate it was printed heavy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

They never stopped producing, they may become 1988 Donruss Baseball. I had Zion Mosaic BGS 9.5 for almost 8 months before I sold it after the All-Star game. Could of killed it when it was $200-$250. Still killed it from a pack bull on my only blaster and sold the rest. Got killed if I had held the blasters instead of the Zion.

I’m not debating the ridiculous printing of Hoops Premium. What I don’t get is how Illusions football is outselling basketball. Is this the only 2020 football product outselling 19-20 basketball? On top of that Illusions basketball was the least stocked 19-20 basketball retail since COVID.

Illusions football is better imo, but still nothing great. |

I actually liked illusions and retail was only sold at Walmart/meijer so it was somewhat limited. Thought it had nice looking inserts and liked the acetates, especially astounding and mystique. Also liked the starlight parallel. Very condition sensitive cards though.
I also liked mosaic and ripped a ton. But you can buy a Zion silver for 200 now. Unless singles go up, I don’t see sealed wax going up all that much. I unloaded my cellos for 50 each and hangers for 90-100 each Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Mosaic is a great long-term hold.

Agreed, mosaic really is a nice product and makes no sense why singles are so low. Like you said, at current wax prices, the only way you’ll make any money back is hitting a top player genesis or Zion silver

The true silver?
PM me if anyone is selling at this price. Don’t check eBay. Just trust me.

Yes I’ve seen raw go for 200 and PSA 9 go for 250-300. I have one myself and it’s a beautiful card. I think it is definitely underpriced Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

unfortunately I think with the release of Prizm anything other than that is an after thought at this point... its crazy that 2019 wax hasn't kept going up since Zion is beasting but ohwell this market is stupid anyways... I dumped all my retail wax that I have held the last 3 years except for any prizm! With this market you just never know. Best of luck with anyone who is still holding Mosaic!

Wish I would’ve seen some of those that got down that low. I also have a pack-pulled one. It’s a tough grade. Mine got a deserved 9. Imo, it’s the best silver panini put out last year.

Again, so many people are always acting like things go straight up. Megas / Hangers more than doubled in the span of a month. Have they been somewhat flat since? Yes. But, I don’t understand the complaining at all. 100%+ is a craaazy return.
The heat has been off 2019-20 wax in general since 2020-21 products started pumping out. People like what’s new and shiny. A first year, chrome product that was well-accepted in the community?.... I’ll continue to hold my stash! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’ve gone back and forth on when I will move some of my stuff. I don’t have a ton but the return on 4 megas, 9 hangers, 1 blaster, and 1 cello won’t even bad at all. They have flatten quite a bit so I may move some of it to use the profit elsewhere.
And the only reason I got what I did was I happened to be there when a reload hit. On release day, there was a guy who drove all over TN and hit every Walmart and bought every bit of Mosaic. I learned this from the rep. Makes me wonder if he had inside info on when to be at each location because there’s now at to guarantee that you would hit the jackpot at each store like he did. 2017-18 Donruss optic mega boxes dropped down to $17-20 box a year after release.
I know I bought 175 boxes at that level from 2 different dist. 2019-20 bkb wax will be just fine |

That is exactly what’s driving the price. Blasters are almost 3x HPS, hangers and megas are 2x. Mosaic gives you the chance to hit a 4 figure card that you don’t have in basically any other retail. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Right now, you could buy a blaster of 19-20 Mosaic or a 20-21 Prizm for about $120. If people are looking for a long-term investment, the Mosaic blaster is by far the best play. When things eventually readjust and people aren't willing to pay 5x-6x SRP of retail product out of the gate, 19-20 wax will again see a price increase, IMO. |
