I'd be curious to see what it would do to the current week's (Thome) PR if both weeks (Posey & Thome) were posted on Wednesday afternoon (following the release of the first 2019 cards).

...And therefore the lowest combined PR of a 3-card set, by a long-shot!

I don't see any mad scramble for cards with considerably less print runs than Castellanos and Panik.

Won't be long and we will start seeing print runs break under the 3,000 mark. A 3,000 PR at this point in time is not sustainable, in my opinion.

For what it's worth...I'm a very proud member of the "2,678 Club". It's not hard to predict the name of this club will be changing.

I don’t know about that. $15k a week of steady revenue is nothing to sniff at.

I definitely take your point that there’s some PR that makes it unsustainable, I just don’t know what it is.

A 3,000 PR/card at bulk prices of $3.75/card would be $33,750/week in sales to Topps. That's $1.755 Million/year.

We haven't hit those lows yet. I hope we never do, but I think we will, and I think it will go lower than that. But it will never average that over the course of an entire year. This is a minimum of a $2Million revenue generator per year for Topps.

It's here to stay.

You are assuming they are really selling 3000 cards and not holding a bunch back for a future complete boxed set or "catch up" edition. Its Topps...they have pulled stuff like this before

I am far from their biggest fan, but they haven’t done anything like this with Now or OnDemand and I don’t think it is a risk with Living.

Living isn't going away.

Now is done after the season...they do a few cards during the offseason for trades and signings...but Nov-Mar they don't print much.

Living allows topps to keep the Online crew busy during the offseason. I'm sure during the baseball season they will ramp up and hire a few more bodies.

Not to mention the money involved...even at 3000 bundles... that's $45,000. And it only goes up when they offer a bigger name.
