They call them Alternate this year on the back of the cards, I do believe. I like the throwbacks a lot, but using the Alternates they can provide a nice lineup.....I guess.

Agreed. I’m torn. Is it worth $1200? Not quite. Not to me. Not yet lol. That kind of card grows on me. Especially when we don’t see anymore pop up. I’m curious about the print run this year. They added red refractors to the lineup which pretty much implies a +/-25% increase in the print run. The throwback/variations could be a bit higher print run this year. Only time will tell.
I only saw 1 copy of the gold refractor/5 from last year. The golds this year will be tougher to find

Yeah I saw that. I’m not entirely sure I’ve seen the Padres roll out in throwback uniforms. Maybe they don’t? I’m sure someone can chime in

that is a good point.

in the past, when the regular H buyers get their fill of needed Throwbacks, the prices tended to fall back. How much? depended on the player, naturally

but those were different days.

did they make more throwbacks this year? probably. But now with the wax up at silly levels, it will lead to less being ripped (theoretically) and less Throwbacks hitting the market

The trout throwbacks never calmed down.
That’s what I’m afraid of. Being the first may be a big deal. Idk. I’m not too bummed I didn’t win the auction. I’m more bummed that the 2020 heritage white border sold before I could grab it

. I still need that and the flip stock for last years rainbow. I’ve never seen a flip stock though. Not entirely sure they exist

yea, and another thing, cases are north of 1K and the throwbacks are waaaaay more difficult then 1/per

Yep. Makes it hard to gauge these top tier cards. I love buying singles of heritage but man, what a boring rip. I do however love the rookie cups

Last year I pulled an Acuna throwback...something like 1:13k packs or something ridiculously rare...sold it for $1.3 K weeks after launch.........looked a few weeks ago and it was a $400-$500 card...rare non-RC Heritage stuff typically follows that same trajectory

You are absolutely correct. I watched Acuna selling for that much and wanted one so badly. Less than a year later I got one for $350. Still one of my favorites!

It is such a cool looking card! I was insanely lucky w/ Acuna in 2020 Heritage...pulled the throwback, Nickname and Action variations and I only opened a couple boxes of Hobby and a decent amount of Retail

They did print a ton of Heritage, but I think we are seeing more of the rare stuff because (as you said) tons is being ripped currently. The odds are astronomical because of how much was printed.

I dont think the print run of the Throwback/Alternate is any higher or lower than other years, I just think its because so much is being opened at release.

The Tatis is probably the only card you can pull (currently) that can almost cover your entire case price.

I love his game, but his style of play is going to be very, very hard on his body. That move yesterday to get back to the bag...oh my!
