Yeah I probably should've said first that I believe J Scott is and can be an amazing artist. His work is in my top 10. His work lately is what has been lackluster.

He is doing the variant for Venom #3, and being that it's for Marvel and not a store variant or a con variant like these midtown things. I expect it to be stellar.

There are some covers that I am like, meh, but for the majority of his work, I like it. There are going to be times where a composition is off based on the commission request for the cover. This goes for the background as well. If you are a shop that is putting out a cover, are you going to spend the extra to have a back ground put in when you know the cover will sell regardless? Probably not.

In any case, art is subjective and what looks nice to me, may not appeal to someone else. As long as the criticism is constructive, we can have a civil discourse

I like JSC's work a lot, but as has been said personally there are hits and there are misses. I typically only pick up Spider-Man/MJ/Black Cat covers. A few randoms just because I enjoy them. I wouldn't want to see the fundamentals change though. Campbell is Campbell. There are plenty of artists doing other styles if you want something different.

My LCS put out an ASM 607 for $35
& a ASM 606 for $30 ...

It looks like if you order Cover A separately, then add Cover B & C you can save about $3. Of course, I didn't discover that until after I had already purchased my set.

You arent the only one that notices that. He pretty much closed his commission list and is just doing remarques now. I bet remarques will hit his site again soon. Last year, he offered them up around the holidays.

I have no problem with remarques, but i much prefer sketch covers on blanks or prelims if I am paying 1k+ and up.

I did the same thing Indy. Actually ended up saving a few bucks this way . lol Not a bad price with the discount count. Let's hope for 9.8 candidates!

Dangit, should have went this route...it would have been nice to save a couple bucks (ordered 2x A,B,+C sets).

Anyone pick up the partial sketch covers that were released in mexico today?

The first cover will pair nicely if you own the xmen 510, black panther and asm 606 partial sketches.

No. I've never seen their online store before but I've got it bookmarked now. I would have spent my money on those over the RYVs. Like the renew your vows and picked up full a Set autographed but the patial sketch is awesome.

Agreed. While everyone was focusing on RYV, I was able to order a set. Took my over an hour trying to order online since the site was in spanish.

Really love the partial sketch where only Black Cat is colored.

When I checked this morning around 10 it was already sold out, so I wonder how many were available if the they were only one per customer. Also if you use google chrome you can have it translate the page for you.

Thanks. Looks like they put some more back online. ordered another set. Won't let me order more than 1 of each, but i hope both of my separate orders go through!

Yeah I was going to go through again and order another set but I wasn't sure. Do most sites just cancel the extra orders if they catch multiple orders or all of your orders
