This weekend is the big annual Shriners show outside Boston. I’ve been going for years and the deals used to great. Last year not so much. Let’s see what this year looks like.

Next time, I’ll make it two days and be more prepared to spend. Wallet is just a lot tighter now….thanks Joe.

Not surprised but I just didn’t get the sense that a lot of large transactions were happening. LOTS of window browsing. This includes myself.

It was an interesting show from a dealer perspective. It was the best show I have had in Nashville to date. But compared to the summer show the stuff that was moving was entirely different.

For those that like the numbers:
85 transactions
I broke down my sales into the following catagories and % of sales $:
Braves: 26.31%
Other Baseball: 8.87%
Other Sports: 8.45%
Pokemon: 15.15% (also the most transactions with 24)
Nonsport: 3.85%
Comics: 27.57%
Funko products: 9.79%

I had Judge & Harper rookies in the baseball boxes and the showcase at 30% under comps and didn't sell one all weekend. Lots of interest in the "other" stuff. The summer show I had significantly more transactions at a lower $ per transaction. This show I had 17 sales that accounted for over 60% of my revenue. Biggest complaint I had was the table(s) directly behind me were the pelican boyz and they had zero regard for any etiquette. Had multiple instances where they had anywhere from 7-10 people behind their table trying to deal, in many instances butting up to my tables and people mistakenly thinking they were part of my table. Other than that, the other folks around me were fantastic and had a ton of good conversation with pretty much everyone that stopped by. Will certainly continue to set up.

I'll be setting up for the first time at Shipshewana this weekend. Driving over from Central Iowa. Will be part of trade night as well. For those of you who sell at this show regularly, what tips, suggestions, ect. do you have? Thanks in advance and I hope to meet a lot of new people.

Nashville was a great show overall even though my truck got broke into along with 11 others at the Hampton Inn. I only attended the show on Saturday and there was a solid crowd. Not sure how total sales were but I just saw one dealer on Youtube said he had zero sales. Still several dealers not budging on prices. I offered $200 on a Mantle graded card and the dealer would not budge off of $220. Ebay comps were $205-$225. Did however pick up some nice 90's baseball legacy collection and Bowman Chrome autos.

I don't sell at that show, but have attended the last 4 or 5. And it is a fantastic show. The crowds have been very large, so I'm sure you'll do very well.

Some cards you dont need to budge on prices...Mantle is usually one of them!

My point was that my offer was very fair, maybe that’s why some dealers aren’t selling much at these shows.

It’s true, you were fair but then so was his counteroffer right?

It was still there when I left at 6pm on Saturday. No idea if it sold Sunday.

I will be the one set up with a six foot table of just solid $1 cards. I will have 20 two row boxes to go through.

I think I'm going to try to pop down. I haven't been to a show since pre-covid, might as well go to this one. I'll be interested to see how the prices are.

Until you find out that the majority of prices are covid prices.
