That’s a solid number. I like BB49 and have a fun stash myself. But his TC RC logo gold #/50 will absolutely blow that number away.

but that thread was about Wander Franco...you know...yesterday's news

today's news is Julio Rodriguez

Trashtros hit Julio twice tonight (this after hitting Lewis up around the head a week or so ago). M's need to protect their guy.

He's too nice to charge the mound. Take your base, then take another base.

This kid looks good. Really god to see him fulfill his potential so far. Don’t have any JRod big cards but looking forward to snagging some flagship RC when they come out eventually.

I get that some consider his flagship RC to be S2, but it’s an SSP. It’s not a regular checklist RC. Doesn’t mean I wouldn’t like one, or that it’s not sought after and highly valued, but I want his regular issued flagship RC like Acuna US250, although Bat Down SSP in S2 2018 is nicer.

It's just an SP not an SSP

Either way still not a real RC. It’s a variation of another base card

Will Julio ever get big enough to draw in collectors/investors from other sports to buy his cards?

They can call It what they want, and I love the card myself, but it’s an SP variation, not a part of the original checklist. #698 is Ryan Sheriff RC, bat down is a variation of that card. Yes it’s a RC variation but Acunas true flagship RC is US250 just like Wanders real RC is 2021 BB21. Same rules apply that name the Wander a true RC. Set release, regular checklist,
not a variation. Now, is it more sought after as an Acuna 1st year card? Absolutely and I’d live to have one, they are awesome. Just like the Julio’s I see guys pulling, very nice card and would love one.

He needs to produce MVP type numbers to get to that category.

And he is nowhere close to that...yet

I think maybe the only current player that has drawn market from other sports is Mike Trout though.

Soto, Acuna, Tatis Jr, and Vlad Jr are on the cusp.

I think he could very well be the Acuna equivalent in the AL.

For the casual spectator, his numbers in no way justify his current prices.

He's benefitting from being the highest rung on a very short ladder this year, as everyone else has really been underwhelming.
