That will look terrible on the Warriors as a franchise if true. Why keep your fans in suspense if you know KD isn't coming back? That's just cruel. lol

Because it makes it hard for the other team to plan against you when they don't know if he's playing (or know that too late).

If it's true and KD is OK with it, I don't see why there should be a problem with that.

"Although it's possible to have no signs or symptoms with an Achilles tendon rupture, most people have: The feeling of having been kicked in the calf."

Watch the video of KD. After he hits the shot and starts running back on D, he lifts his leg, looks back and grabs his calf as if something hits him.

I also think that if he really is hurt that bad he wouldn't love an achilles injury being linked to him right now before his big free agency Summer. The team and KD have interest in minimizing it.

Side note for drama: I hope the team didn't or doesn't misdiagnose this...

It's pretty near impossible to misdiagnose an Achilles tear. (partial maybe but complete? no way. Either way it would be extremely hard to miss this.

Wouldn't he have bene in some sort of boot at some point if he ruptured his achilles? I don't think any pictures have come out that would indicate he ruptured his achilles. He was supposed to scrimmage today, but it got called off. I like conspiracies as much as the next guy, but this one doesn't pass the smell test imo. It would be really crappy of Warriors management and KD to hide that to their fans when many are already worried that KD is gone after the series.

Don't necessarily think it was a rupture as much as a partial tear.

In short... Injured/decimated warriors team losing to a decent raptors team.

This is more the warriors unable to provide a consistently healthy team than the raptors winning.

The starting lineup for the warriors is a joke. They’re running out 2 injured players, iggy and cousins, 2 no names and steph. Toronto is running out a mvp candidate and a decent squad with a good bench.

I’m not sold on the raptors winning this series, but the injures the warriors have accumulated make it almost improbable

Lol draymond and his;

2017 DPOY
3x all-star (2106-18)
NBA all 2nd team (2016)
NBA all 3rd team (2017)
5x all-defensive team (1st 2015-17, 2nd 2018-19)

That’s considered a “no-name” starter?

Let’s not forget klay started the first 2 games, one of which they lost. Also our two all-stars are injured as well and wouldn’t be playing if it wasn’t the finals. You’re salty, don’t slight the raptors

even a partial tear is significant for an elite player like KD. He would be in a boot with a partial tear.

He would have already undergone surgery. And the league would drop the hammer on the Warriors for being so misleading about the injury.

It’s his calf. Calf strains can take over a month. The Warriors are hooong he makes it back in time.

Bottom line is Warriors depth is being asked to over-achieve and play like the usual starters, which simply won't happen. And Raptors are much, much healthier overall than the Warriors.

Leg injuries preclude you significantly more from being effective than a hand injury does. You can still be a defensive stopper with a hand injury as Lowry's, but not so much with a leg injury as Iguodala, Klay and KD have. And all 3 of those guys are central defensive pieces for the team.

I doubt that, it would look bad on the NBA for getting into the whole "but you KNEW" politics.

I'm also desensitized given the lack of injury info during NHL playoffs, though.

The Achilles’ tendon is what connects the calf muscles to the heel bone so it’s all related. If he had ruptured it he wouldn’t have been able to walk and would’ve had to have surgery with recovery at 6 months to return to basketball activities. Even a tear is super painful. If it was more than a muscle injury he would def be in a boot. I’m sure his camp is being extra cautious to not cause a more serious injury considering his FA status after the season.

Salty where? I won my eastern conference final pick of raptors and took home my money and left the arena.

I have no team, but I love the game. My favorite player is gone for good after getting a 2 year ban from the nba, OJ Mayo.

As for draymond, he’s a decent player, but right now they don’t need defense... if draymond scores 10+ a game it’s a miricale and a half

I knew you'd cop flack for this. But it's pretty spot on. How people forget they were literally asking how Draymond is in the League only 6 weeks ago. GS are down a lot right now but Klay coming back in a must win game is massive.

Oooh what was it?

Don't know the $$ amount...but he was pretty confident issuing the challenge with him taking the Warriors straight up.

I tried to get him to do game 1 but no response.

Salt doesn’t describe what warriors team you’re facing...

Kawhi is injured - how much I don’t know. What I do know is that he isn’t 100% nor close to it.

They have a roster without what I consider 2 mvp level talents when healthy in cousins and Durant.
They trashed their bench to attain Durant and boogie so the level of bench play is basically d league players replacing them.

Raptors are by far not the better team in any way when healthy, but it’s a really close game when you take Durant and boogie out of the equation.

Sadly the raptors didn’t take a lead/advantage because it’s 2-1 at home for the warriors, but I honestly want rosters at least somewhat healthy to determine a championship, but raptors fans can boast for the moment I guess

Oooh what was it?
I’m predicting him to NOT come back this next game. He’s hurt and hurt badly imo. Same with the entire roster. They’re a shell of themselves at the moment and need Durant back. Klay would help, but the more I’m watching the more I don’t like. I thought boggie would do work down low, but he’s toasted.

I replied back in this thread before the game. I should have pm'd. At least you got a taker though.

Looks like it's most likely going to be tied up 2-2 as I predicted, assuming the Raps don't go crazy tomorrow.

After that I have no clue. But I still think 7 games, just because the Raps are stronger than most people (including myself) thought they were. It's impressive for a team that never had much playoff success to be this cohesive the same year they get a new superstar. Usually there's a bit of a learning curve.
