Sent 11 HMT55's to PSA back in August on Economy, think I'd get them back in two months and flip some 10's for $200. In this case, I'm pretty happy that PSA is backed up and running behind!

Now, seeing how well the pinks are selling for... wish I hadnt let go of my psa 10 for $400

I mostly do basketball but went pretty hard on '18 Update and Chrome update when it was avail at MSRP

I'm having the same issue w/comparing baseball & hoops. Is one way over valued or is the other way under valued?

It's hard not to compare Soto (even Acuna) with Luka Doncic.

We're seeing Luka Prizm PSA 9s easily go over $500/each while Update PSA 10s of World Series Champ Juan Soto go for much, much lower.

I was I was buying a lot of Soto in early 2019, and watching Luka play here in Dallas but not buying as much Luka as Soto was a big mistake...
My last PSA sub w/HMT55's was 100% GEM with over 20 copies...

There is zero 2019 sapphire around to even gauge what my Orange gem is worth, so i put it on eBay for a ridiculous $10,000 just to make sure it doesn’t actually sell. Be interesting to see what offers i get.

I feel your pain. I'm fighting the regret of selling my pink HMT55 Black Label for $2500. Luckily I still have 3 BGS 10s to keep me company

I am shocked at how fast these have taken off. I get the vibes there's some funny business going on with big money investors and influencers here.

I want to say that there had been one or two Purple Sapphires listed a year ago or so for like <$150 and of course I didn't pull the trigger or I'd be posting pics of it here every two days. Anyone have a way to find sold listings past ebay's time limit? I'd be interested in seeing those transactions.

My finger has been on the sapphire Soto trigger since they came out .. very few have popped up .. even the base weren’t that plentiful as you would think they would be .. I bought about 6 of them all around 30-40 bucks since release

Houdini pulled 2 '19 Sapphires for me when they launched. I sold one raw as it wasn't great. Then I subbed and received a PSA 10. Sold it for $300 (which was crazy at the time) as soon as I got it back. Realizing Im an idiot and didnt have another in the stash, I bought this one last week. It's the only one that was avail. It's headed to PSA this weekend.

Bringing it back to our guy, Soto, those of us who recognized that hype and expected performance were the factors driving the upward movement in prices had no problem buying at continuously higher all time highs because we recognized there was nothing to interrupt it until the Performance Period begins (Spring Training). If I'm right, you'll see people lock in those off season profits once Soto's in a batter's box, effectively slowing his cards' growth and potentially driving them down, especially if he gets off to a slow start. I'm hoping that these trends solidify, because everyone loves predictability when it comes to making money (or timing PC purchases).

I appreciate all of the advice!! This is all along the lines of what I was thinking, I was just wanting a second opinion to validate! It'll mostly be a PC card for me, but I just want to make sure and get one while I still can

Bought a lil stack of 2018 Topps Now #235.

I know we've been through the hype cycle and out the other side on Topps Now. I just think long term, folks will realize these (and Panini Instant) are very collectible. I certainly love my Instant collection celebrating the big moments in Mahomes' career even if investorbois won't touch it.

At any rate, first pitch homer in his first career start. Pretty sweet moment for the first Topps Now RC. That'll definitely make the cut in the MLB Network Presents special in 30 years.
