Hope none of the boxes we all sold on eBay don't get returned by scumbags on eBay. That would suck and until I get feedback for the two sales I made, I'm going to count that money as being good as gone.

I was pretty happy with these but as many people said, I probably would not go out of my way to bust them. Definitely more value than expected but that is a function of the current market pricing for these products. I was hoping to score one of the hits but i think they were pretty long odds.

Would consider buying it again next year.

I would be willing to sell mine but the international postage might be prohibitive as i am based in Sydney, Australia. Let me know if you are still interested. Thank you.

This is pretty darn uncalled for.

It amazes me just how much some of you just crush anyone with any complaint. If you liked the product, great. If you would buy again, great. Those of us that don’t feel that way are allowed to have our opinion.

No one in this thread has complained that every box didn’t have a $1000 hobby box/case in it. If they did and you want to go after them for that, go ahead.

The two biggest complaints that I’ve seen are:

1. This was a retail dump/there was value but quality was lacking.
2. The top boxes were so much better than the bottom boxes.

As far as it being a retail dump, I don’t think anyone came in thinking there’s be no retail in this. The issue for most of us is that there have been many boxes with only retail. The bottom boxes, in my opinion, should have had a ~$200 hobby box and then been supplemented by retail.

The disparity in some boxes was pretty crazy as well. Obviously there are winners and losers. But if someone is hitting a ~$2000 case, why are they also getting a $500 hobby box when others best hit is a ~$200 retail box? I understand this happens in Topps/Panini cases where someone might hit 2-3 huge hits and the next case has nothing. But those are machine-packed cases. Unless I’m wrong, aren’t these boxes be hand packed and therefore much easier to keep something like that from happening?

No product is perfect, especially repacks. But we bought these from Blowout, not some random person that made their own repack product so some of us expect a little more quality. If our complaints/feedback helps make the product even better, isn’t that good for you if you’re going to continue buying it?

Care to name three hobby boxes that BO has for sale for $200 that you would have been happy with?

I can name a lot of hobby box options, at quick glance, that would have been less "value" but delivered more value to me:

2021 Topps Series 2 ($80)
2021 Topps Inception ($200)
2021 Topps Stadium Club ($165)
2021 Topps Gypsy Queen ($170)
2020 Ginter X ($200)
2020 Topps Pro Debut ($199)
2020 Topps Series 2 Hobby ($120) or Jumbo ($175)

Heck, open up a case of 2021 Museum and distribute 48 packs across 48 boxes, and that would have been more satisfying than the Trevor Lawrence box.

While I have no problem with the retail dump, having an item or two of something that I might not otherwise have access to (i.e., something that I couldn't have walked into Target, Walmart, etc. or ordered easily from Topps) would have made a big difference.

But surely you realize that the majority of people would look at those boxes as junk, and be disappointed in the lower value.

Gambling on a gamble is silly. Just buy the product you want if you're looking to open the wax.

2014 Bowman Inception Baseball
2013 Bowman Baseball
2015 Topps Strata Baseball
2015 Topps Heritage High Number Baseball
2017 Topps Clearly Authentic Baseball

2016 Panini Playoff Football
2012 Panini Prime Signatures Football
2015 Panini Contenders Draft Picks Football
2011 Topps Supreme Football
2014 Bowman Chrome Football

There’s probably 100+ more Football/Baseball hobby boxes at $200 or less that could have been used in these situations I’m talking about. I literally just picked 5 random ones that were $200 on the site. Basketball gets tougher at that price point but most of the basketball hobby is going to be high-end hits in these.

Are the ones I listed the greatest boxes ever? No. If I had gotten one of these boxes over what I got, would I complain? No.

Pretty much what Khal said. I bought 2 boxes for fun completely expecting to lose out but came ahead on both. It goes the same for ripping ANYTHING in my opinion. If you rip for fun then you'll have a great time. If you rip to flip then more often then not you will be disappointed. If there was profit in everything then EVERYONE would be doing it.

Again, I think the issue is that people never thought of it as a bunch of retail product. That's all. Had we had a better idea of that, I think people could have made more informed decisions.

I'll be honest, I have no idea how I was able to sell a few 2016 Topps Megas, a 2020 Bowman Chrome Mega, and a pack of 2018 Topps Update for $350. I'm happy as hell about it, but I can imagine opening all of that up and getting less than $10 in value in total. Just shows how crazy pricing is on, well, everything.

I thought the singles market dictated wax prices but I don't think that's the case. It's just insane to me how much it's now either a grand slam or a strike out on three straight pitches wax is now.

I got the same exact boxes except the onyx it was a jersey fusion instead. I'm also not a baseball guy so not familiar with the boxes

If I wanted to bust retail, I’d go to Walmart and Target. I’ve said multiple times in this thread that I’d rather have gotten $400 total value with a hobby box than my $800 all retail box.

The 2014 Update mega is nice. Did you open your T-shirt bag? There's at least a Trevor Lawrence box in there, maybe more.

You asked, "Care to name three hobby boxes that BO has for sale for $200 that you would have been happy with?" I answered, including offering an option (Topps Series 2 Hobby Box) that is less value than the Trevor Lawrence box that seemingly was included in everyone's box.

Congrats on moving the goalposts!

Even if those are the boxes people would like, I also don't believe BO would put any current Hobby product like 2021 Topps/Inception/Museum in repack products like these. It's purely mostly a older hobby and retail inventory dump with the more current hobby products being the bigger hits

It's not moving goalposts. It's a point that you can't make everyone happy with this kind of product. I'm guessing the thread would be a lot longer if BO filled the product with the junk you posted that would have made you happy.

Well now you can sell your $800 worth of retail product and rip $300 worth of hobby boxes for free!

And there is nothing wrong with this approach, but I also think it's fair for people to be disappointed with the amount of retail in these boxes. This is a situation where I don't think anyone is right or wrong and I would have hoped that most people could see both sides here. Trust me, some of the people acting as if they were out the full $500 was beyond ridiculous.

I know I'm buying some Miocic cards with my funds and a figure or two.

And yes, I'd probably buy another one next year if the price is still $500.

So you’d rather get retail baseball from recent years? That makes sense.

We ended up opening way more than we originally planned for a total of 7 boxes. I only do basketball and did not get 1 basketball box from all 7. We hit a few decent football and baseball boxes and made a little bit. Sold off the ungodly amount of junk retail baseball we got. Overall we made about 40% profit so not too bad. Gave away way too many archive boxes and leaf football because it was easier and a way to give some kids a cool card.
