Watchers are not always wanting to buy. They could be using it to keep your listings visible to them without putting you as a favorite

This is a new one
New message from: (145TURQUOISE_STAR Star)
Can I still buy this?

New message from: (145TURQUOISE_STAR Star)
I'd like to buy the side of my just didn't get in my bid in time

They were back to back messages.

my response
Item is still available

New message from: (145TURQUOISE_STAR Star)
It's asking me to make a payment for $5.34 but I already made a payment 35 minutes ago. I don't want to pay twice if I don't need to

My response
Item has not been sold .

So the dilemma here is there an issue with ebay or is the buyer not doing something right.

I'm thinking it's some sort of new scam.

I had one where the person was saying they bought an item on accident but had already paid. It was not showing as sold/awaiting payment...etc. It was just an active item.

Possibly something to do with pending payment? I’ve noticed sometimes when I buy things it can be stuck in pending payment for a decent amount of time….not usually 35 minutes though. If I’m not mistaken the item might still show as active while that’s going on. Seems to have been doing this more recently, especially with the auto payments with bids or offers. Otherwise I have no clue.

Sounds similar to this. I never did figure out what the angle was.

I'm not sure how, or even if, I should reply to this one I received today from a buyer with 10 feedback with this account opened in April of this year:

"Had a lot of surface damage. Wont be able to grade"

I did not observe any obvious surface damage, front or back, before I sent out the card.

All cards can be graded....could it get a PSA 10, I don't know....would it get at least a PSA 7, absolutely, just as described Near Mint or Better.

Lol’d.

While this is what sellers want to say, in response to the situation, especially if within the 3 day INAD window, sellers basically just have to take the card back. Take it back for a refund, and block. Maybe ask if they can provide pics first, but it won’t really change things. Annoying but just how it goes.

Getting into an argument over messaging etc can just lead to more issues, buyer more likely to leave negative feedback, all for the same likely result in that the buyer simply returns it.

If the buyer had, or does, file for a return, I would just refund and let him keep it because I don't want to pay for return shipping on a $4 card. The message I posted was just that, an eBay message, not a formal eBay complaint. The 3 days from date of receipt is up tomorrow, he has had the card in hand for 2 days.....I'm kind of thinking no reply is best at this point. I'm not overly concerned about negative feedback, this buyer has not left feedback for any of his transactions to date....and since this was an ESE transaction and the card is, at least in my opinion, as described, any negative or neutral feedback should be easy to get removed. Probably best to just think "Enjoy the card", but not put it in writing.

I got sort of the same on a $1.90 free shipping item. refunded and said enjoy your card. I had 8 of them all close to nrmt.

Hi - I received this card I ordered from you today, but it is clearly not the card from the listing. The centering is off and the mojo pattern is different than the one in the listing. Can you send the one from the photo in the listing?

I filed a return for a card today because the slab it came in had a crack in it. Also, the seller packaged the front of the card with bubble wrap, but left the back opened, like he ran out of bubble wrap or something. He used masking tape to join the ends of the bubble wrap together and the tape left a residue in all 3 areas on the back of the slab. The seller said the residue must have happened during shipping and not the tape

I probably could have removed the residue with something, but also didn't want to use something like goo gone and mess up the slab

"That would be quite the feat since it's Saturday and it won't go out until Monday at the earliest."

If you wanna have fun with it. Go with the:

"How do you suppose we make this happen?"

Let me guess, this was an ESE item!

If it is shipping to US, Fedex or Priority Mail Express might work?

I messaged them and stated Fed Ex overnight was likely the only way and even with that there is a chance but to ship that way its going to be much more expensive. Have not heard back just declined and blocked them

Instead of paying for S&H, I offer Free pickup! Fly on out, and come and get it.

Have we ever figured out why people message sellers with an offer for an item, when the item has a "Best Offer" option they didn't even use? That's the #1 eBay message that I ignore, if a person asks me if I'd take a certain amount and doesn't even bother use the built-in Best Offer system I just assume its a scam of some sort.

I actually had that happen the other day. The guy responded with "What's the lowest you'll take?"

I responded with, "I'm not going to be both the buyer and the seller. Make an offer and we can go from there. Fair?"

He responded with, "I did make offers, but you automatically declined them."

Totally forgot I had min offers set, lol. We ended up making a deal.

I did double check that, I don't love that either (maybe I just don't like people messaging me about offers) but I would still prefer that, as at least in your case they tried to make an offer before messaging you.

Why are you selling that hot wheels car for 40.00 when you can buy it at Walmart for around 6.00? You are a scammer?

It's a chase piece. Good luck finding one at retail.. and blocked

It amazes me how people think selling something that was made to be hard to find and valuable for a profit is scamming.many think selling anything for a profit is wrong.

A super treasure hunt hot wheel is akin to a case hit in sportscards.
