This is nothing crazy.. but I always love card photos that show the player signing autographs for the fans. There was only a print run of /162 of these Topps Now cards:

Is there some type of hype on Flagship numbered black parallel cards I don’t know about? I ask because I just saw that a 2012 Topps Black Ichiro /61 sold on eBay via auction for $356!? I thought that was insane.

Anyone want to fill me in on why it sold for so much?

I’ve had this card sitting in my collection for years and never paid much attention to it:

Numbered, very condition sensitive, look badass

I expect them to continue to rise. My Judge and Ohtani Black collections are staying in the safe.

Topps Black is being discontinued so anything Topps black is now heavily desired.

Topps: "Let's discontinue Topps Black. Any thoughts?"

Topps: "Nope sounds good let's kill it off."

If you look at the bids, 3rd place was 60-70? Then two mega bids over 350. Just two collectors fighting to complete a run is my guess.

(EDIT - looking again, 3rd place says $77, but below that are a few bids in the 125-150 range. Still two people outpaced everyone by 2x)

I grabbed the Ortiz and Pedroia from this massive 2012 black set break this seller is doing for less than $50 combined.

The fact that you dismissed the best Ichiro card ever made 2012 Flying Catch is criminal.

I have 6 of these Flagship Black Flying Catch cards and I pay TOO much attention to them.

Don’t be so quick to discredit me. Haha! I love the flying catch photo.. I was just collecting the chrome cards. Unfortunately, I totally ignored the paper parallel copies.

Tony is the Ichiro King. Probably globally, but easily#1 in America.

as for the Topps Blacks... They are the modern day MLB PMGs and
are waaaaay more difficult to find than their chrome counterparts.

i was underbidder on a 2009 Pujols PSA 7 (SEVEN!!!!!!!) last night that ended a 251

But everyone knows Benny the dog has by far the most impressive Ichiro (& Benny) collection.

Too bad on the Pujols hopefully a solid 6 or raw comes up soon!
