I can see topps doing more of this in the future. Contract with an artist to do either an insert set and have dual player / artist autos. Huge cross over cultural appeal.

I came in thinking “Trout set only.” Then it turned into adding an artist set—then 2, then Griffey, then Jeter. I was a little skeptical of the Gibson’s at first but I think they’ve turned out to be some of the best—so I threw him into the mix—and another artist...and...a couple FT’s of course...and...

Maybe this will be known as the pandemic set for the time it was released, but more aptly, for how it spreads.

Don’t know how you can blame someone else for calling out when they think someone may be pumping up the value of a card (intentionally or not)? Isn’t that the majority of your posts?

For the record, I didn’t get one of the Money Bear cards. I don’t want one. Not a comment on the art at all, but it’s missing the P2020 sticker and black box with bubble wrap, so it’s worthless to me.

Oh got it. If I hadnt received cards 40-50 from Topps yet I would be on the phone flipping. They are super valuable and shipped a while back. $2400 worth of cards is a lot of dough $$$

Oh I have no problem with it being valuable! I know if a flipper finds something they can flip for a big profit, they get the same joy that I get when I finally find a card I’ve been searching for to buy for a reasonable price. I can respect that feeling and the value, absolutely.

But I’m not sure I’m ready to declare Saladeen’s branded souvenirs and apparel a part of the Topps Project 2020 SET—just because someone who found it on a website somewhere and stands to make $ on it says so. As long as we understand it for what it is, pump it up, up and away as you please!

A few of us on here have been saying this since they were $40.....same with Thomas 44 and Ichiro 22 and Cartoon Brett and Efdot Ryan and pretty much anything 1-60....there are over 300 more, these first 60, even possibly now 100, will all spike in value......Siff Mattingly, Vides Gwynn and Cartoon Gooden are next and are excellent buys right now, imo…...

Last unsolicited opinion of the day- if I was new to the series I would look at grabbing Jeter's Saladeen and Taylor and Trout's Thiele. All can be snagged for less than $50.

My rationale here is based on Ben Baller. Baller' Jeter will DESTROY Trouts PR. Baller will hype this to the moon and it will explode. As a result Jeter's early cards will look unbelievably low (PR wise) and while Trout's Baller will be a large number, the Thiele will look like a very low number by comparison and, without spending big bucks on the Ermsy, it might appeal to casual Trout collectors.
