It will get kind of complicated, but at a bare minimum they should add the year to the front of the cards beginning in 2017 to differentiate from the 2016 cards that did not have a date on the front. I think they are bungling a great opportunity if they renumber the 2017 set. This set could build its collectors base if it keeps the numbering of the base set going forward over several years. Low numbered cards would probably shoot into the hundreds, and over several years collectors would player/team collect all of their favorite player/team cards that Topps Now prints.

Forgive this question, I don't want to comb 320 pages of this thread.....is there a certain time each day the new ones get posted? Pissed I missed out on the dual today!

They usually come out ranging between 1200-1630, but I think there was one time that the cards didn't get announced thill around 1830.
It all depends on the day.
When there are "special cards" like autos or relics, it tended to be late, but today, the cards were announced around 1230 which is quite early.

Felt like the ones this morning got posted early. The only reason I even noticed in time was that an Ebay search have me a heads up of some new postings...

Today they went off for me around 10:40 AM MST - 12:40 EST. I just happened to be on the computer and caught them. Glad I did because after 12 I had a get together with some people and I definitely would have missed it if later in the day.

Hey Fred -

You have to do an auto. And you have to do a base since it's the last cub home game, they won there and they haven't won there since 1945??

So we can go in several different directions:

A)

1. Dual Auto Bryant / Rizzo
2. Chapman Auto Relic

or

B)

1. Rizzo / Chapman Dual autos
2. Kris Bryant Auto / Relic

It's the last cub home game, it HAS TO BE SPECIAL. LIKE CUB SPECIAL! You can do it FRED!

I'd prefer option A so I can skip the Chapman auto relic and still get Bryzzo

I was at the game and hope they don't do any auto or relic. Was it an awesome game? Yes. Do I want to spend even more on overpriced cubs cards? No. It's crazy an Indians dual is $100 and a cubs single is more than that. F you topps at this point.

At this point I am almost happy...since I know i wont be spending $200 in the morning for a single card.

Kind of interesting question...I got two myself and am looking for more of a few of the singles so there is at least one buyer of singles out there. I would only buy the team sets if the price was sufficiently low.
FYI; Right now NJBowlingfreek who normally sells at a crazy low price has the Dodgers up at $70 (Don't bother making a low ball offer auto deign is set at at least $35)...though at $70 and a 383 PR it has Utley's Kershaw's, Seager, and Urias' Topps Now SP's along with firsts of 5 others....I think $70 is more then fair when you think the /250 Blue Sapphire Seager sells for about $150.
So looking at them right now I'd keep them as a set and sell them that way...

I agree we should keep the numbering...and the design. Perhaps the Logo could add the year Topps Now 2017

Also they could release albums to keep the cards in that are 4 cards per-page maybe 100 cards per volume...the pages are think enough to hold one touches or at least top loaders to protect the cards. These albums could have pre-printed information about the cards under the slots they go in...including print runs and other information.

Wait a minute...perhaps I will make these and sell them! Off to Kick Starter!

I'm in the minority I guess...I say new year, new numbering. To me, numbering continues only in sets where there is some kind of similarity, such as a Hall of Fame set. If this continues for 20 years, how will anyone know what numbers to chase for a certain year without looking up in a price guide?

First off that is not Topps' problem

and secondly they will buy my Topps Now Collector's volumes that have all the pages with information about each card.
