The card molesters have been around long enough so that they know how to play the game. They know, for instance, that 1948 Leaf baseball come in two different sizes. They're also aware that 1951 to 1955 Parkhurst are either full of size variations or appear to have unusually large borders to most TPG graders, who are pretty ignorant when it comes to vintage hockey. The result is a sh!tload of chopped cards. In fact, if not for BODA, the first five years of Parkhurst hockey would be totally uncollectible in PSA holders...although we're rapidly approaching that threshold right now. The only way to really clean up the hobby at this point would be to pull every submission from all the dealers in my sig line and for PSA (and other TPGs) to decertify every single card.

That Clemente is pretty crazy.
If one fails (gets caught), just alter again.

I guess SGC thought the edges were too sharp to be real, so he cut them down and frayed them. Wow.

Almost as if they were actually looking at what they were grading.

I would love to know who bought that Clemente in 2019 and 2021.

This trimmed 54 Bowman Mays does not look right. Easy to say in hindsight with the evidence in front of me, but those borders look laughably narrow.

The pre-trimmed Mays (presumably unaltered) was a nice-looking card too. Grading is such a farce.

PSA Authentic Altered to SGC 2

SGC Cert #6372180

Value gain of $2,289.00

This card was purchased by Gary Moser (whitman111) from Ebay seller PWCC as a PSA Authentic Altered on February 28, 2019 for $610.00.

Same card was sold by Probstein123 as a SGC 2 for $2,899.00 on March 15, 2022.

With the PWCC scanned images being so different with contrast and brightness
I am unable to see the pencil marks referred to by PWCC in the listing description.

Maybe some of our Net54 members can reach out to ppgustafson and see if he still has the buyers info?

That Cobb is a case of someone being slab blind and not looking at the item they are buying.

That card is 90 years old, even if it was slabbed 20 years ago it would still have 70 years of absorbing its surrounding environment and color fading in its appearance. The shocking bright red background is a dead giveaway it's been fiddled with.

All that real patina frittered away for $237.

Even if they did and I doubt any of them would ask him, Gustafson would most likely not cooperate or state he does not have the information any longer. I encountered that a majority of the time when I was assisting.

The shape and contour of all four corners appear to have changed on the PSA 10 1960 Topps Willie McCovey All Star.

Really interesting to see that the first documented sale of the Tunnell occurred after PWCC claimed to have stopped their relationship/partnership with Moser.
