Lifelong OSU fan - that should have been a touchback under the current rules

LOL @ the fact that you think the ruling proves anything.

He didn't ever possess the ball in bounds in the end zone. His foot was out of bounds before he regained possession.

They gave OSU a free 7. If I was rooting for Michigan right now, I would be having an absolute conniption.

As it stands, I'm happy they gave OSU the points because my bookie doesn't get out of paying me because it was a bad call. But make no mistake: it was a bad call.

Right and if the refs overturned it/called it a touchback, most tOSU fans would be losing their minds.

Bad calls happen is my point. The reviewed it and upheld the call it is what it is. My whole point

The record books won’t have the asterisk you’re hoping for.

The rule needs to be looked at in the offseason regardless. A game should never be decided on a ball briefly coming loose after already having been caught and advanced. Players switch hands all the time. Switching hands would technically be a "fumble" under this rule. I get those who say "a rule is a rule" and I understand that, but if that were the final play of a National Championship game, I would be sick for the scoring team if a technicality resulted in a turnover.

They don’t give Asterisks for planting a MOLE when the NCAA has THREE Columbus Ohio grads as well as an Ohio born member on the committee.

It was a TURNOVER ! Changed the entire tide of the game! Michigan can’t beat the refs. RIGGED ! !

Smith attempted to change ball to a different arm to secure the safety of the ball but he didn’t have control as he stepped out of bounds therefore a TURNOVER !

If there wasn’t advanced technology available now, that play would never have been given a second look.

Rigged 😆 sorry. 9 points for UP North when they had the ball 3 times deep in OSU territory, but yes one call made the game

These coaches need to get the players under control.

Agreed.

1st TD got overturned correctly and everything was fine in the end. Thd 2nd Td looked like a touchback to me. That play will not be what wins or loses the game. If your team can't overcome one bad call in the second quarter, than you don't deserve to win.

Stifle crying off the charts.
