Definitely some tanking but also think they are concerned that he can't really eat anything. He'll definitely drop some weight.

If Chicago was in position to make the playoffs I’d bet he’d be back on the earlier side. Kid is the future of the franchise… no need to cut any corners. Benefit is zero. I don’t think tanking is the reason… they’ll be plenty bad with him even before they trade off anything with a pulse and a decent contract.

As ‘dolo says, nutrition gets weird so gives a bit of time to make sure strength and stamina is back too.

If Bedard gets lit up and ends up hurt on the ice then yes you can expect someone to step up and drop the gloves.

That's the response I'd want from my team with a superstar rookie.

Would have been great, but we're pretty happy with Leo.

Certainly wouldn't be howling like the Blackhawks are after a little bump that caused an injury; you'll notice the Ducks made no comments about Weegar "targeting" Leo when he fell into him spraining his MCL.

A lot of these guys are playing for another contract. Do you think it looks better or worse to the front office if you're the guy defending the face of the franchise or if you did nothing because you thought it was a clean hit?

Whether he got lit up, or if the hit was clean, etc...I want to be known as the guy who defended my teammates. It doesn't make it right/wrong. That's just the reality of the situation.

I typically do not like hockey fights BUT in this case.... LOVED the players coming to his defense. Cheap shot or not. Nice retaliation by the Hawks players.

That showed that the kid is respected and is legit.

The staged fights are dumb as this point but I like that you are allowed to scrap in the heat of the moment. Makes the sport great.

2023-24 Rookie Debut came out in December on ePack only (sold out within 4 hours) and he has a sticker autograph #/25 from that set.

Black Diamond will be the first true pack pulled Bedard RC in a blackhawks jersey, not sure if he will have auto versions there but he should. I think that entire set is stickers.

I detest sticker autos, but from a card company point of view, sticker autos are the fastest way to get some kind of auto into the hands of collectors.

I believe UD was not allowed to make (or release?) physical cards of Bedard until he had played in an official NHL regular season game.

He'll have on-card autos soon enough.
