It's actually not that bad tbh

Cheap AS cards are under 10k, cheap HR Derby cards are around 15k...middle are around 35k...top end few are around 110 and top are 170k

Opened three AS packs, two base rounds and then hit the Vladdy round. Stoked to add him considering I destroyed it with his Monthly Awards card.

Ended up opening 3 HR Derby packs as well and got the Alonso! So I cannot complain about adding both Vladdy and Alonso

Grinded out the last leg of the moonshot event last night. was 30-9 going into last night. final leg was a sweat-fest though. ended up 40-21

Of the new cards i've tried, 98 Trea Turner and and 97 HRD Soto have smashed. 50 online ABs and Turner is batting .500 with 6 HRs. Soto has 34 online ABs and is hitting .471 with 5 HRs. In the event, so stats are inflated but still outhitting the rest of my guys. Soto is a menace in the outfield (and not in a good way) but I may just have to keep him in the lineup for a bit. Trea doesn't get the best animations but with his speed, he's more than adequate

I've been reading rumors that Aaron might drop today as part of the All Star Program. Thinking it may be similar to the grind required for Ruth last year. That was a pain in the ass tbh, but I will be doing it for sure if it turns out to be legit

I've skipped packs but have bought all the HRD/AS cards except the rare tier. Would be cool to be one of the early 99 Ohtani users, but just can't justify the price. I think they will drop packs in programs and conquests at some point like they did the 42 series

Got to the all star game pack, got the rare round!! Took Vlad. Decided to sell Vlad because I used the stubs from selling Vlad to get LS Acuna to finish off the NL for Soriano, and finish off the 42 series cards to get 99 Jackie.

The 2nd half collection gave me enough for the boss pack, adding 99 Franco to the squad

Will have to get the Acuna soon. W there. Program really doesn't look too bad compared to something like the old-timers grind from last year. Guessing we'll get one of those soon too

"Invested" in base tier all star cards 96 xander (x35) and 96 liam hendirks (x33). was hoping they wouldn't, but thought there was a chance they would release free AS packs with the AS program today, and they did lol. am about break-even on them as of now. going to hold for a bit, as i think there will still be a lot of players looking to do the ohtani collection in the coming days

i have been super happy with the HRD/All star/TA3 content. they knocked this one out of the park (pun intented)

I am 1 showdown away from getting ohtani. I love the TA 3 showdown format. If you lock in you can finish them relatively quick (20-25 minutes).

After that I will probably just stack the lineup and grind some CPU rookie games to unlock 99 acuna.

the only bad thing about all this content is figuring out who to put in the lineup haha

Is anyone else having issues with the stats counting towards team affinity? For example, K’s with Allstar pitcher.

I noticed there's a slight problem if you bring a pitcher in mid inning. It wont count the new pitcher. If you bring them in for a clean inning I have had no problems

Same here man. This drop was wild, esp when you go back and look at stuff like HRD cards from previous years.

I was thinking it would take me a while to get Ohtani and Acuna but it was but nope...

From my free packs in the Acuna program, I first pulled mid-tier HRD Soto, then lucked out and got the rare tier on the AS pack and scooped Vladdy and then grinded the collections in the most streamlined way I could figure, and didn't even touch a showdown

I have an absolute pileup of dudes I would like to use but see my working build below


Only thing I don't love about the current state of the game is that I'm thinking 80% of daily players are going to be using 80% of the same roster

I had an issue with this yesterday with NL Central. Ive been playing Conquest to finish, especially since prospects have shot back up to 2.5-3k stubs each.

Ive finished AL and NL East using the "vets/all stars" from tA 1 and 2 no issue. But the only pitcher it would register K for on NL Central was 80 Arrieta for Cubs. Neither 89 Lester or 84 Dibble counted.

Might not have counted tb correctly either but thats harder to track than Ks

I always think it's pretty hilarious when people blame a controller for them sucking at a game, but I have long suspected that the xbox controller is at the heart of my pinpoint pitching woes in MLB The Show lol

I got an xbox branded elite controller a couple of weeks ago, and it's great in many ways but I had the same issues with pinpoint. It's like the official controllers have a massive deadzone in the center that prevents single fluid directional motions

Today I received a Razer Wolverine Ultimate, and the difference is truly night and day. It's like woosh, woosh, woosh, striiiiike lmao...

I just played a casual game to test drive it online and I struck out 24 in SS Greinke's debut. Granted, the opponent was terrible, but I gotta say it was fun as hell after struggling so much. I was shocked and impressed that the guy didn't request a friendly and stayed the whole game... Also, will say that Greinke is niiiice (it's just too bad his h/9 rating isn't better)

Anyways, the only issue with the new controller is that its analogs are super, super sensitive. I can get to anything in the same zip as the zone and make contact, but squaring the ball up is a challenge for sure. To illustrate, I got 17 hits against Cabrera in the casual match but only scored 5. Really only squared a single pitch actually (a 2 run nuke from Schwarbs). Even so, I'm thinking I'm going to return the Elite and keep the Razer

TA AS Closer Alex Reyes is LEGIT. I have gotten blown up with his LS a couple of times in BR, so I was a bit wary but 3 online innings so far for me and 3 saves with 0.00 ERA and WHIP + 6 Ks. Super small sample but can just tell when a card like this is going to work, and this one seems to have the goods

45 stamina out of the box (50 is parallel 5)
125 H/9
115 k/9
5 pitch mix
outlier sinker
99 break on 12-6 curve
high ctrl on 4 seam and slider

12-6 curve can be a bit wild, but with the break and speed differential, it seems like it will be a nice out pitch if reserved until needed and set up well

Changeup looks to be trash fwiw, so will be staying away from that unless it's going in the dirt

Have tried both AS Greg Soto and Hendriks as well.

Not sure Soto is endgame, but doing well with him so far with the outlier sinker.

Hendriks is a guy I'm a fan of IRL from fantasy baseball, so always looking fwd to checking out his top end cards. Just like last year, I've gotten hammered with him so far lol. I did end up doing really well with the prestiged finest last year once i finally got there, so I may give him a bit of a leash

Finally finished the the BR program.

Final win and point was a true Shippet Special. Was tied 1-1 (with only 1 hit) going into extras but ended up loading the bases. Luke Voit hit his 2nd dong of the day to take me to 5-1. Then got a solo shot from Topps Now Knapp. Then loaded the bases again and AS Ecobar hit the 2nd grand slam of the inning. Ended up with 10 hits in the top of the inning and scored 11 runs. Was absolutely ridiculous. Probably the biggest blast I've ever had playing this game though lol

Scooped 97 Al Leiter for the reward. Wish they would have juiced his overall to 99 for posterity but his stuff is nasty. 118 h/9 and my favorite pitch mix in the game. He diced the opponent up his first time out.

Also bought 99 Vida from the market and chose 99 Christy from the inning pack.

Have heard mixed reviews on Vida but I really enjoy his cards in this game. Have yet to pitch with him.

Christy is another story. Have liked his cards in the past (despite the 7-minute windup) because of bugs bunny type breaking balls and decent velo. Those are still there, but his windup is actually a real problem for me using Pinpoint pitching interface now. Can't time the release point for #@#@#@#@ so far, which really fools with the location. In his first 2 games, I ended up switching back to Pure Analog pitching after an inning or two. Was actually damn effective after that.... I may try to practice pinpoint with him in conquest, or probably more likely I may just sell him and move on though

I'm somewhat convinced that hitting is nerfed in many moments.

I'm fully convinced that cpu pitching in moments is turned up to throw out of the zone way more than regular cpu pitching. That really drives me nuts...

Anyways, I never use it in actual games, but in moments on rookie difficulty, I nearly always use power swing when HRs or XBHs are needed. Sometimes I do the same on vet. If that still doesn't get it done, I try directional hitting. Usually one of those strategies leads to a breakthrough for me
