Not really.. Tatis started at 350-375 - price now is not relevant. There will be tons of people trying to recoup box cost.

How do you sell the best RC for less than the price of a box on the secondary market?

So, you think the best bet is to hit one of a very few cards that could potentially go through the roof now to recoup box costs?

IMO, the best idea would have been to sell the other junk to recoup as much as possible and sit on the card that may skyrocket at a much lower buy-in than you would be able to get anywhere else.

You're clearly putting words in my mouth. I said that people will try to recoup the box cost when they see the credit card bill for $1K+ for their 2-3 boxes. This is tried and true, I don't understand why you're arguing it.

Thanks bud. Was not expecting such a wholesome response when i vented on here. Good luck with your box!

But you responded "not really" to a post that selling the Robert for $325 was a mistake. Pretty sure I didn't put words in your mouth.

I'm saying it's not surprising to see the Robert price starting at $325 when Tatis started at $350 range, give similar circumstances.

edit: I see where the point of confusion is. I was just saying it's not surprising to see it go for $325. Tatis was at 350 and sitting around 400 for a long time.

I was the one that bought it! I was on the fence originally about buying a box as an MC member... Decided against it. I saw the Robert and figured if I can get it for the same price as I would've paid for a box and not have to gamble then why not!

2 boxes.

Absolutely no base worth mentioning.

Nico auto saved me.

Has anyone cracked the math on the estimated print run of the base cards?

Let's hope Robert doesn't hit 3 more home runs today and the seller cancels on you
He's 2-2 today with a homer, 2 runs, 2 RBI so far.

Opened my box and pulled a Robert and Luzardo.

Other than that, literally nothing was notable at all. Reinforces how huge the checklist is (and how long your odds are of pulling something good).

I posted my 2 breaks several pages ago:
2 Boxes
Autos: Urquidy Orange /25; Dubon
Color: Matt Olson Purple /10; Ryu Orange /25
RCs of note: Kyle Lewis, Arozarena
Base of note: Bregman, Bellinger, Lindor, that's pretty much it.

As far as color, autos and base go, pretty brutal. Lewis is what, a top 5 RC in this set (Robert, Bichette, Yordan, Lux, Lewis in some order) and that break still looks pretty brutal when you just glance at it.

Again, I've been a set-builder of this the past 2 years. Bought, I think, 11 boxes of '18 Sapphire and bought a case (40 boxes) from Topps last year. Ripped everything. Built sets and got some singles graded. Mostly bummed that I won't be putting a set together but I knew that was a distinct possibility coming into this year.

Like a kid at Christmas, I had to open my 2 boxes within minutes after they arrived. The first box- very happy (first picture below, plus 6 other RCs). Second box-should have left it alone and resold.

If anyone hits any Scott Kingery cards, PM me if you want to trade.
