one of the great things about p70 and collecting in general is that you should really only buy what you like, and ignore the other stuff. not saying you/we can't gripe or complain about lack of effort, just that there is plenty of subpar product in p70, in baseball cards in general, and in life. the artists are going to do what they do, no amount of complaining will change that. well, aside from the reactive and subtle trolling they may incorporate into their cards..

Pardee but yeah what I mean is you're going to get attached to an artist and then I guarantee one card is just going to truly upset you and you'll have to buy it since you're going to for the artist set. Imagine Pardee doing the last card without teeth or the wrapper card upsetting you or doing a 1956 topps in portrait instead of landscape. It's bound to happen.

The best cards in the set are memorable left-of-center cards that tell a story and have a meaningful connection to the artists' other work: Pardee, Ermsy Rollie Fingers, POSE's cut-ups, Distortedd's Dominican food playfulness, Fucci raising existential questions over Dick Allen juggling, even Jerry Manuel. Some of that stuff's going to have lower PRs and trigger/confuse most people, though. |

For somebody with modest capital, and a mindset that this will take multiple years, does this plan sound decent? |

Your plan sounds great, but I would never think of these cards as an "investment" so buy what you like and only what you like because you have to prepare for being stuck with worthless cards. |

Who is the best player to not have a card yet? Other than Bonds who I know there are permission issues with

1) Select 1 (or more) artists that you like and collect their cards. This is an artist-driven set, and the 2-3 cards of each artist that have been released should be enough to give you a flavor of what you like 2) Select a few artists and a few players that you collect, and get the cards of those players by those artists Low PR-chasing is going to lead you with a bunch of cards that you don't like. Get the stuff that you like first, and figure out the rest over the next 40 years. |

I meant since Topps existed. Not sure if those guys are even allowed anyway since it seems like there are quite a few off limits. Bonds and Bo for now are not allowed either. And I'm sure there are more.

For post-war position players, FRANK ROBINSON. Then maybe Joe D and Joe Morgan. Eddie Murray is probably in the top 10! |

Frank Robinson is definitely number one in my book. Not just for his playing career, but his historical significance as a manager.

I'm biased towards the Orioles, but the Frank Robinson, Brooks Robinson, Eddie Murray trio is a pretty impressive one that has been ignored so far

P2020 wasn't my choice because I just don't see the fun in 400 versions of the same 20 cards. But this set will be gigantic, visually appealing and it will include all kinds of players young and long gone. |

So jacked for the Mets game last night so that I get Keith and Ron back in my life. I haven't checked, but I hope PSA 10 1984 Donruss Rated Rookie Ron Darlings are going for 3 figures. [Because he is El Hombre and deserves every penny] |
