There is a 101 with an 8.5 on Ebay ending tomorrow. Might be a new highest paid price when done.

Interesting little tid bit. I was following this one. And for a while the seller had it at $87K. And since I was following there was a discount offered that brought it down to $75K. It is out of our budget either way. I guess now with the other auction happening, they canceled that offer and hiked up the price to $100K.

From an investor's perspective, that eBay seller annoys TF out of me. I feel because of his/her lower end Buy-It-Now prices, especially when it was $75k, it capped the potential of max bids for the other 8.5 auctions like the recent PWCC auction that ended at $77.1K. At least he brought it up some now.

From a buyer's perspective, you should thank this guy for somewhat delaying the inevitable market growth of the 101. That recently ended PWCC could have ended at a much higher price, thus having a ripple effect for all subsequent lower grades too.

PWCC 101 BGS 8.5 ended tonight at $75K.

Will be interesting to see how the two 8.5's and 9's at Goldin Auctions will do.

Many discerning collectors are most titillated by the undergraded 7.5 specimen becoming available via Heritage in the next few days

This thread has taken the back seat this week. 2 of these in Goldin auction which ends tomorrow night. A nice 9 and a 8.5. Be interesting to see where these end up.

Anyone looking to buy Star cards should read this:

https://allvintagecards.com/star-bas...rds-interview/

I definitely wouldn’t buy any raw Star of any player but especially Jordan. At the time of this article Beckett was the only major grading company that will grade Star

What about this one? The 86 logo is not even really yellow, the originals have solid yellow 86 logos...just strange.

The reason other companies won’t grade is because there are a lot of counterfeit and they are hard to detect. Becket seems confident so if you are going to buy them a Becket graded seems to be the choice. Personally I’ll skip all Star graded or not

Just got off a conference call with Sasha Vee, Gary T, the investacard guy and Don West, they are all in agreeance that this particular copy of the much ballyhooed Star 101 possesses the most embedded clout of any piece of cardboard known to man. Investors and collectors alike expect to engage in hand to hand combat in the next week for this specimen

LOL... a new uniformed poster seems to come in here every week with this type of garbage. I sometimes wonder if they are just alt accounts.

Dude, I've seen a fake MJ Star Crunch N Munch card in a Beckett slab.

A part of me is glad this sentiment exists and collectability has been suppressed to a degree because I have been fortunate enough to build a star and 101 collection with my budget.

Not hard to detect for anyone who is educated with Star cards. There are more counterfeits of the 1986-87 Fleer 57 than any counterfeited Star card.

Get educated with Star cards by reading the useful and knowledgeable Star resource content at http://www.basketballgold.com, primarily from the FAQ's and Common Misconceptions pages.

How ironic! The guy told me last time the guy won and did not pay so hopefully tonight's winner actually pays for the card.

Is this the reason why people go through PWCC or Goldin to prevent something like that from happening?
