It’s crazy. The radio silence after launch, the phantom / missing emails with a 24 FOMO-pressurized $1,000-5-autographs hyperlink...it’s nuts.

I think you’d have a harder time getting volunteers to do a worse job than the people Topps has paid for their involvement in the 582 Montgomery club. Honestly all they have done is proven that they gave zero thought to this rollout and they simply do not care. Other than to expect to make $1,000,000 in a 24 hour period.

The extras will probably go to companies like Blowout and Dave and Adam's. I believe there may already be deals in place.

I got the email. I sent an email to customer service with some questions on the 4th to decide whether I wanted to purchase or not. They never responded until last night. I was told they were flooded with emails and it took them 2 days to respond. ???

Really? I signed up for it and have gotten no such confirmation, card has not been charged. I never got an original confirmation email either, I just filled the Google form out. I just emailed their customer service to see what is going on.

2 days is pretty good. I sent them a complaint 30 days ago and haven't received a response. Got a response to a BBB complaint within three weeks though!

But Houdini's break is basically at 1k. I understand he isn't making money on it but retailers don't typically sell at cost.

That’s a good point about them essentially selling at cost right after they purchased. Definitely strange.

It could be an interesting loophole, as in:

1. Topps states in print that these cards will only be available to members.

2. Topps sells memberships to Blowout, Dave & Adams, etc. maybe at $200, maybe not.

3. Topps sells all unsold product to Blowout, D&A, etc. at an extremely discounted price.

Topps didn't lie (for once) because these cards only went to members.

yeah came this afternoon along with shipping tracking number. had nothing to say was accepted before today.

This is why we didn't see changes in the contents of the product because it was already a done deal and ready to ship. I wonder how long Topps has been sitting on these?

Blowout paid the same price as everyone. They shipped to me at cost and I ran the breaks for free.

Yes, this is NOT how you run a business and yes not everyone is happy about it at BO, but I just can't justify making money on these right now. If I open them Monday and they are amazing, then expect the price to go up.

BO gave me free reign to do as I saw best (and maybe they wish they hadn't), but I have seen the same thing here that you all have.

I think the people joining are:

1. Curious what these will look like. No other breaks exist.
2. Enjoy the gamble of a hit draft product knowing probably only 1 or 2 spots will make a profit.
3. Hoping Topps will over deliver.
4. Don't mind striking out and getting the last pick.
5. Want in on the product, but not at $1k.

Either that or I am a liar. (I'm not a liar.)

That's a good point -- I bet there will be at least on monster in there to help build up the hype to get people to buy the rest. Remember, it didn't say the Brooklyn set was going to be exclusively offered to Members, only that members had first crack.

I can't find it in the thread, but they have specifically said that it will not be offered outside of the membership. That doesn't mean they won't figure out some sort of loophole of course.

I still think they will have to re-open the window to their members, simply because they couldn't have sold as many as they hoped. Loading up early boxes could have a negative impact in that case, because say the Ohtani & Trout 1/1s come out early, the incentive to order in a future offering would be even lower.

Well now Houdini has 10 sets available. Also how did Blowout have them on Friday when everyone that bought one didn't ship until Friday.

Some of us that had questions didn't even get a response until late Thursday night so we were not even able to buy the product.

Also I have a hard time believing Blowout is going to sell $10,000 worth of product at cost.

Just my thoughts.

Agreed... This is a really odd situation and not a good look for this program. Hopefully the stuff they send throughout the year are good or this program is going to die fast
