For forums they are using one of the more common forum softwares and leasing that software for about $300-$800 a month. Servers another $100 or $200. Again built into the costs of all other products. This promotion does not equal $3000 in costs so don't even try saying that.

if you think the only costs in a business are the "obvious costs" you need to check again....take my business for example...we are pretty seasonal for 3/4 of my employees...during the winter I lay them off and in the spring they come back...they pay their normal taxes and I have to match those taxes for them to get unemployment for the 4-5 months they are laid off...so if they pay their costs but my company doesn't pay their costs well someone wont be happy when the first snow starts flying...

they are in it to make money...that's the whole reason for this website...if you think they created this forum to be just a fun place to hang out and shoot the breeze your sadly mistaken...it was created to draw attention to their website to sell boxes...

the same can be said for group breakers...a majority of them make decent money just breaking packs...are they scammers as well...

these promotions aren't to make money for the people entering them...its to have fun and follow a certain player and if that player does well you might hit a nice score out of it..and blowout made the promotion to make money..

your being to analytical about it, stop diving deep and pointing out the obvious...omg blowouts trying to make money off its customers they are scammers..no they are a business with paying customers...if the price was 5 dollars to enter I bet you would be first in line to buy as many as you could...does that make you a scammer? no it doesnt

name one store in the history of the world that would only charge a 5% markup on anything...if you know one I bet they are bankrupt already or the only employee is the owner

You are crying over $20. Plus you edited your opening post. Something doesn't smell right.

You only answered one of the three questions. Why are you on this forum again?

My edit was what the real price should be. That's it.

Because I'm a collector. But unlike most who shell out hundreds or thousands for crappy products (the market sucks now since about 2008) I only look for the best. I order 1-2 boxes a month and order mostly veteran singles like mantle, dimaggio, etc...

Just to throw it out there I am looking to trade a 2009 Donruss Elite Mike Trout RC Auto /495 for mantle originals or a cut. Please PM if you can supply and I'll provide pics.

Last edited by triplethreads07; 08-23-2014 at 02:29 PM. Reason: added Donruss elite to trout card info

Take National Treasures for example, you spend $500 for a box and are lucky to get back $200 of what you spend. The market is all high end crap now and it sucks for the hobby. Buying vintage singles is about the only way to go these days with some exception to the rule of course.

I just did some calculations and everything I ever bought was a scam! Do you think those bananas cost 99 cents a pound!? NO! I can't believe every company is selling stuff for a profit and scamming me for my money!

You should open your own company. Looks like you will have the cheapest prices!

This thread actually got me interested in the promo. Lol

Does it bother you that BO has some of the cheapest prices in the business and offer free shipping over $150, which is pretty low. They also have free contests. During footbal season they give away tons of products just for picking top performers.

Giving free stuff away! Now that's a scam. They are forcing you to like them! Lol

This isn't a promotion at all. This is a way for blowout to make an extra 15%-20% margin on your purchase...The total cost of ALL boxes in the blowout store currently is $9,932. They collect a total of $19,195. A difference of $9,263. Season awards are $3500 and based on last year's record and we'll add 2 more just for kicks means they give out $6000. Leaving $3263 left. Take off couple hundred for shipping costs and your left with a cool $3000 of PURE EXTRA PROFIT. Kind of a scam if you ask me to call it a PROMOTION.

Call it a contest, anything but a promotion. A promotion signifies savings and this DOESNT offer any such savings.

Price should be no more then $179.95 a spot and I would actually have joined for a spot for 1 at that price but $200? Just increasing margins.

Dave? Adam? come on fess up we caught ya hahaha

Compare this:
I go to a baseball stadium and buy a single hotdog and a coke for 15 bucks
I go to my local shop right and buy 2 packs of hot dogs, 2 loaves of bread, 2 bottles of ketchup and 2 gallons of water - this costs less than the stadiums 1 hotdog and 1 coke.

If you don't like it then don't buy.

Why makes this thread? You're in desperate need of something.

Many of Blowout's products they buy individual boxes for. Products like 2007 sp legendary which solely rely on the case hits for revenue if you sold your case results are how they can offer such low prices on the products. Someone opens a box of SP legendary cuts and finds their case hit autograph. The other 7 of 8 boxes with minimal hits most likely Blowout buys from them. Then they sell them to you.

Thats why they have such low prices. Dave & Adams AND Steel city are the same in that aspect, thats why products that can be weighed should only be purchased locally at the time of release. Otherwise huge hits will have been already cheated out of us online buyers.

Please explain this to all the people who have gotten big hits from the boxes blowout sells.
