At the top of my wish list for next year's meeting is a more predictable release calendar. They'll have all the big licenses going, and they should be able to create a master calendar. My guess is they won't, as they don't want customers saving and avoiding a release for another more popular upcoming one. The unpredictability of their releases is likely a boon for them rather than just incompetence as most always assume. I still want a calendar though dangit. Make the baseball Series 1 release the hobby New Year, and release a calendar that day each year.
I honestly don't think that they're competent enough to create a "master release calendar", let along actually stick to it.

Things are bad now.....and they're only going to get worse next year when they're trying to get three times as many products out the door.

In their desire to "10x the hobby", they've bitten off way more than they can chew.

Problem is most think 10x the hobby only refers to Baseball or even Sports Cards in general. Having licenses like Disney, Marvel, Sponge Bob etc.....opens up a whole new younger collector base. Too many people think in terms of what they particularly like or buy and can't see the bigger picture.

Have you paid attention to the WWE market before Topps limited 2025 offerings? There may not be a single product this decade that has dropped a higher percentage from artificial pump height to a rock bottom price less than 6 months later than first year WWE Prizm. Go back and look at 90% percent of the WWE products released this decade and tell me again how strong the WWE card market is. Hell, even 2025 WWE Sapphire is selling below MSRP. There isn't a single other Sapphire product with a guaranteed auto in history selling below hobby. WWE Chrome hobby is selling for over 50% more than WWE Sapphire.

That's not even taking into account how red hot WWE is. Imagine if the WWE product was lukewarm or cold. If you don't follow WWE you'd be shocked at the money WWE is taking in right now. They literally just sold out of front row seats for SummerSlam before the general sale and were able to sell just those limited seats for more than AEW will get from their entire live gate from almost every TV taping the entire year. These people paid more for seats for WWE's 2nd or 3rd biggest show of the year than you could get great Super Bowl tickets for.

This would piss off way too many people here. There was way too much freaking out about 2024 products being released in January and February of 2025, before pitchers and catchers reported.

How is topps going to do Flagship 2026 baseball, and football? They going to blow their load on 2025 Licensed Football as soon as they get the license in march/April of next year.

The Wrestlemania and Rookie Patches are gonna be a big deal and whatever product they are in will see a bump...
When I was in high school, I knew a family that would get every pay per view. They'd invite a bunch of us to watch it, and I'd always offer to kick in to help pay for it. They'd just say "nah man, just bring a two liter of Mountain Dew." A week later, one of the utilities would be shut off.

I went to Wrestlemania 26, and replica belts were something like $250. I was in shock at the number of people walking around wearing those belts.

Basketball and football are a little different in that their seasons don't fall entirely in one calendar year.

I actually agree with the idea that the baseball hobby year shouldn't be the same as the calendar year.

I was simply commenting on what actually happened in the threads, people were outraged over a 2024 baseball product being released in January 2025. It was ridiculous

I think people are angered because they know where this is headed. 2026 baseball products being released after the 2027 season has finished.

That is a justifiable anger. But that wasn't what the outrage was. It was literal outrage over a 2024 product being released in January of 2025. It has nothing to do with where things might be headed in the future.

While that's good news for those who want continuity, it makes no mention of there being entirely too many parallels in all products to begin with. This is but a small iteration of damage control by Topps/Fanatics, knowing full well the larger amount can't cover up for the price increase.
This was my first thought. The list that was on the screenshot is the list or just a sample of the parallel list? I know we will still get 10 un-numbered ones. I like the idea of not having red /10, red lava /10, red disco /10, etc. I don't want to see 80 or whatever that is in prizm basketball.

How is outrage for something that may or may not happen, and is merely speculation, justifiable? That seems like the least justifiable type of anger there is.

You just reminded me that I went to Wrestlemania 2 with Hulk Hogan and King Kong Bundy.

Yes, the 2026-27 nonsense Khal threw out there is not justifiable.

The being outraged over 2024 products being released after 2025 products have already been released is. I should have been more clear on this.

For example. 2024 Heritage High Number being released in March, a month after 2025 Series 1 came out.

FIFY.

The young people don't care about tradition. It's the old people who complain about how the game isn't the same as it was in the 50's that have issues with release dates not being the same as before

They are holding back all 2025 Football releases until April 2026 so they can be licensed.

2026 products will also be coming out in 2026 so save your money football fans.

This will be a great opportunity to buy the good stuff. Everything will be shoved together and shops and buyers will be overwhelmed. Snag the good stuff when it happens and watch the cream rise to the top.

Is that true? That will be a metric ton of product being released. I can see the 2025 stuff crashing fast especially once everyone has had a year to see all the rookies suck.
