Why is the copyright and card number on the front of the card?

More than likely that is the back of the card and there is another signer on the front

I'm starting to believe this product has not sold out. Companies don't know how much stock Topps will release to them. So does Topps sell directly to companies or do they go through wholesalers like GTS.

Was looking up some old breaks in the Group Break Forum. Get ready to get depressed. For those that are unfamiliar, you'd get every a card from every solo signer. Only difference would be the numbering - you might get a Ford /40, or a Ford 1/1. For the duals / triples / quads - you'd usually get 3 cards that weren't from the solo signers per case, so there was some variation.

Each year, 100 cases. Almost every card was hard signed. I remember Anthony Daniels being sticker in 2018 I believe - not sure why. Carrie Fisher and Kenny Baker were stickers because they were dead.

Now with this new "Galactic Antiquities" product, you get:
5 random autos and a sketch for $3,000-$3,300. And it sells out immediately. No wonder they keep jacking the price up. The signers could be 25% Resistance Cartoon signers for all we know. Portman / Ford / Dawson / Christensen / McGregor / Clarke might have only signed 10 for the whole set, as compared to 100 for Stellar...

2020 Star Wars Stellar Case Break
Cost of the case $8000
36 spots for single autographs
3 spots for dual autographs
1 spot for triple autograph
1 spot for oversized sketch
1 spot for reproduction sketch set - additional shipping required

2019 Star Wars Stellar Case Break
Cost of the case $5200
36 spots for single autographs
4 spots for dual autographs
1 spot for oversized sketch
1 spot for reproduction sketch set - additional shipping required

2018 Star Wars Stellar Case Break
Cost of the case $4500
40 spots for autographs
1 spot for sketch

I know we did 2021 Stellar on here too but couldn't find the threads. Search tool doesn't work great for me.

If fanatics made stellar in 2025

Cost would be 12000

They would give half to large distributers and they would sell it for 20 thousand dollars

Then the other half would go to Layton gamble breaks

And 100s of people would get ripped off

Topps sells direct to consumers or stores/breaks. They cut out all distribution to my knowledge.

Fanatics stopped using the distributors like GTS and Southern for US hobby distribution when they acquired Topps. GTS later acquired the contract to handle the International retail distribution for Topps. This was likely something that Fanatics did not want to deal with so they let GTS take the risk with international shipping.

Fanatics now controls where 100% of every product goes. They choose how much they want to deal with direct and then how much they want to push to the 3 big on-line shops and then how many crumbs they want the LCS’s to have.

Here's my two cents ...

Cryptozoic moved to exclusively using a half dozen big Distributors (and getting out of the LCS and individual sales game) because it was "easier." -- Six big shipments and you're done.

Is this essentially what Fanatics is doing by sending the bulk to 3 big online shops?

Fanatics is shipping 1000s of packages a week now with all the Topps now trash and direct on the website.

But Topps used this model forever by selling to GTS then letting them ship out of their 7 distribution centers. When Fanatics acquired Topps, they already owned double the amount of regional distribution centers so now they no longer need to sell to distributors at a big discount. Fanatics has a logistical advantage that allows them to keep profits high by handling the majority of their own distribution. 3 big 3 do not get as much as they did under the old system. They are all more active in buying on the secondary market.

Again again, with a product like this that Topps can/will easily sell out and easily ship out at $1.5k per, why allocate to anyone? I maybe get them setting aside a chunk to Fanatics breakers, but why DA or Blowout (even if they offer to them for MSRP)? The Big 3 will continue to buy up SW even if they get no Antiquities, so why the favors?

Topps cut ties with all wholesalers in the last few years.

Stores can get a direct account with hot product being allocated.

Breakers on Fanatics Live can buy directly, as I understand it.

Other than that, it's Topps selling directly to the collector on their site.

I don't mind Topps/Fanatics getting rid of the distributor middlemen but (1) I hate to see the card stores suffer and (2) they apparently have no interest whatsoever in passing any of those savings on to us.

Because none of us can buy it …

It’s a perfect example of what the hobby is right now

Fanatics blowout Dave and adams. Are trying to normalize this absurd price point for all new products

Imo. This is pushing collectors out and how long will people want to gamble for cards ? Seems bleak

I’m telling you or everybody.

Fanatics takes all the blame. But that’s not true at all

I love blowout and Dave adams. I buy a lot from them

But cost on this product is probably 1500 dollars

Why is it 3000 .. because the large distributers double there price

Very few are understanding the real problem in wax prices

Yes breaking pushes everything up also. But distributers are price gouging every single new product being made

Lots of people will say that’s just business

So there is not much to be done. But when ROI is 15-20 percent .. something should be done

There's still some untapped things they could try and do..

Oscar Isaac
Woody Harrelson
Frank Oz--supposedly lives in NY, could they nab him? That would be big

I'm hoping for something like that...but it probably wouldn't happen...

EDIT---Isaac is in 2024 High Tek and was in 2024 Galaxy Chrome---so, I'm guessing he will have on card autos in this..that would be big
