Archers, full bore pistol shooters and the like are still amateurs but usually the flag bearer is veteran or a future star that could have a breakout Olympics ie Phelps.

I am enjoying Lebron carrying the load for USA. Hope they can get it done. Too many close games already.

If anyone can take on a big load, it’s Lebron. The bigger the load, the better.

Pretty sure this is sarcasm, but nice to see him play well and carry this squad for the last two games.

He was fantastic against Germany.

Hope it carries over for the Olympics.

Watching Wemby for the first time really. I am not really seeing it here vs. Canada. I guess we have to say potential? France has atrocious perimeter shooting. I can see how on the right team Wemby's reach could earn extra possessions. Shai's stroke is pure. Nice to see Nemby closing out.

Potential? Well he just averaged 21/11/4/2/4 and earned roy as well as nba all defense 1st team.

I know, but who is watching whole Spurs games. Just my impressions after watching some minutes. I like the guy. He is not the motor driving the team, at least France.

Basic stats leave out a whole bunch of factors, such as other options on a team, quality and number of touches, the meaningfulness of games.

You should really just stop commenting on basketball. You just continually embarrass yourself and have put in 0 effort to actually learn from it

Kerr getting serious.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Dream Team had MJ coming into his prime and a couple other figures like that. I think that the NBA has just picked too many players on the wrong end of the career trajectory. There are like two rising stars and I'm not convinced they are the pivotal ones you need. I can't remember the last time LeBron or Steph were involved in nurturing impactful young talent. Reaves? Poole? Kuminga?

I like the young Canadian core of Drew, Shai, and Dillon better.

Spain seems to be chucking up alot of contested threes, they have no inside presence. Missing the Gasol's fosho.

Aussies with a solid win.

Would love to see us win silver. Canada look the most dangerous other than the US of course who should win this tournament in a canter.

Every time I start reading a post that halfway through makes me go "wtf is this drunk philosoraptor-tier musing?" it's a Nomad post.

They suck you in cause it leads with words that are usually used by people forming coherent thoughts but then you realize it's like you told chatgpt to render an intelligent sounding word salad that doesn't really mean anything.

Well, I did predict the ascendance of the Celtics and Pacers a year before each happened. People still trying to blink Indiana away.

Often the observations are subtle or (increasingly) unstated, because when I say something non-obvious that later turns out true I am gonna hafta walk through flames at the time.

It’s been a really solid day of basketball. Wemby and SGA really stood out.

But according to Nomad...

Wemby has "potential"

While spewing nonsense across multiple threads...
