America isn't really capitalist anyways
I didn’t mention America.

Self interest leads to greed, which then will lead to a non free market.

Saying it’s scalable and actually scaling it at different. I’d love to see a large scale, purely capitalistic society.

Well I’m not sure how you would define “pure” capitalism but it sure has worked for most of the last couple centuries.

Inevitably all human institutions become corrupted and empires fall. Just the cycle of history.

So if you mean it can’t last forever I agree, but it definitely does scale better than any other system ever developed

Don’t feel bad. It’s easy. Don’t steal and teach your kids not to steal. That’s it

This is correct

It’s why the stealing is wrong answer is the correct answer

*grunch* sort of.

Theft has become a way of life in Los Angeles. I was at a 7-11 in Downtown Los Angeles a few weeks ago and I hear the clerk telling a person they had to pay for the items. The person said “nope” and walked out with the items.

No call to police, no report, nada(which is why if anyone tells you crime is down or flat in Los Angeles they are utterly ignorant). The various laws created over the past 12 years, including propositions approved by voters, along with a DA who won’t prosecute a whole slew of crimes, have conspired to create these issues. The once lovely suburb I live in has experienced a large uptick in misdemeanor level crimes(that again are unreported because reporting won’t actually accomplish anything) and a smaller but significant uptick in major crimes including multiple assault and robberies, rapes, and murders.

If anyone talks about it on next door, there’s the local dimwit hammering that the stats show crime dropping. If anyone dares to say they’d protect their property with deadly force, there’s ten responses that things aren’t worth taking a life for.

I had already decided that I’m moving out of state when I retire in a few years. All this just reinforced that I’ve made the right decision. I wish I could move to a truly rural area, but long term health issues confine me to a large city so somewhere with safe suburbs, no gun registration requirement, and a healthy and enforced castle doctrine law is my next best bet.

Unfortunately, the school system is raising most children and that's why we need an overhaul and better qualified teachers.

You can defend the teachers all you want. I have 2 kids and their teachers through the years haven't been very impressive. There have been a few that really know the material and those I applaud.
It's a fairy tale to think kids are being left behind because of poor teachers and their poor parents working to death. The majority of kids are being left behind because of single parent households and caretakers that are not invested. I'm told this often by teachers and counselors I know well that work at schools. Statistics also support the same.

I very much agree with this. I have a decent amount of friends that are/were Teachers and Id say the majority would love to find another field of work. From talking to them I really don't know why anyone would want to be a teacher now a days. Kids seem absolutely awful, parents are usually worse and Administration completely inept or at least completely useless. Not to mention the pay certainly isn't worth all the trouble. So many of them just seem to have their hands tied with what/how they can teach. I feel like there are probably a lot of teachers that were really good and they have just been beaten down to the point of not really caring a whole lot.

Then leave the field. Don't be a place holder just to collect a check.

Difference is, kids don't know any better, parents and teachers do. Why aren't parents being good role models? They probably had the same non caring teachers as the kids today do.

The school system has been failing the kids for a while now, and it didn't start with the COVID shut downs. Teachers have sucked way before that.

In the grand scheme of things we could all do better.

A Hypothetical United States?

Those that steal lives other than themself, should be first and foremost in accountability, just like in the Good Book. We would have far to many Elite’s that have such power, that lives that are taken are hidden because of the ties within the economy. Profit overrides the safety of those that increase the wealth of the Elite. The United States has far too many people having their lives being taken and then told unbelievable lies in order to harbor the .000001%ish.

How does this occur, it’s like a Mafia but it’s dividing those selected from those not selected. Those selected have to Lie, Hide and Deny the truth to keep the Ultra Elite from being known that they are separating the Nation.

My mom grew up in a Country that separated it’s people and those that were chosen within the group believed they were more elite than non chosen people. The selected members would be required - Silence, Obedience and Ignorance in order to protect the accountability of the extreme few who make the decisions.

My take on stealing life “killing”. It comes first in the 10 C’s and it’s just as sickening when it’s done for profit!

CFISD is significantly better.

Parents actually attend Curriculum Night except at the Title 1 schools. There in lies the biggest problem, IMO.

Lack of parental involvement in their child's education.
