Excitement Waning for New Releases on BO boards - Page 3

Remember when the next baseball card product was about to be released and there was a significant buzz on these boards about said product? I'm talking pre-COVID, when the new flagship, or Bowman, or Chrome or whatever product was hitting LCS shelves and everyone was posting their hits and enjoying this key part of the hobby because it was still affordable and not complete insanity to rip new wax.

I used to open many thousands of dollars of wax a year, and got immense enjoyment out of it. This year? Well, I ripped 15 boxes of Heritage which was fun, but the only reason I did so was my LCS owner gave me some great trade value for them for some stuff he wanted for his PC. I profited a little on it and went on my merry way. It was nice to once again dive deeply into a new product and figure out pricing for all my ebay listings, to figure out what I wanted to keep, etc.

I watched the 2023 Heritage thread like a hawk, and while there was some activity it was nothing like 2019, 2018, 2017 and before. Bums me out man, and with the Fanatics takeover and where they are steering the ship I feel like those days are gone and will never be seen again.
